It would not surprise me a bit. I think the guy would be refreshing and he can think on his feet and has no problem calling out Democrats.

Cantor is an Establishment opportunist. He is part of the problem not the solution. He refused to attend the VA Tea Party convention in Richmond, which is near his district. We had Frank Wolf attend along with the Gov and AG.

Disagree with your whole assessment of Boehner. He was a fine minority leader and will be a fine Speaker.

House Majority Leader is not the same as Speaker.

Maybe the impending competetion is the REAL reason Boner got all choked up and teary in his little speech last night.

Sorry RINO weasel. Problem is I’m not sure Cantor is reliably conservative either.

You mean Eric “little piggy” Cantor? The same Eric Cantor who refused to back eliminating earmarks?

Bah!

I like Cantor, but I think he is too wonky to be leader.

He also supported the bank bail-out, which I can fogive, but it makes him suspect.

I would prefer a bomb-thrower with Cantor in No. 2 position, as Cantor is a great detail man.

Big freakin' surprise there.

He backed TARP and isn’t as conservative as I’d like, but he’d be a very refreshing change and much better front man for the House over the next two years.

Given the way Boehner cried last night he could be close to the full-Franken diaper position about now.

I hate to say it outloud, but I don’t entirely trust Cantor yet. There are some other names on that list I don’t trust either. We are going to have to watch them like hawks.

Yes it has been the plan. People are jumping the gun and not paying attention as well as probably reading the headline wrong.

He was in charge a short four years ago and was horrible.

No he wasn't. He became Minority leader in 2007 after the Pelosi wave.

Pence would be great, but he may be a tad too nice a man and not quite strong enough with reporters. Cantor’s got him beat on those counts.

It's not that Boner has done anything wrong, per se, it's his failure to ARTICULATE.

Boner did hold the line on every important vote the House took over the last two years. Every one.

He just couldn't explain to the American people why the GOP opposition was important.

Thanks. So he wants to be Leader and Boehner Speaker? I did not know they were two separate positions. Man I have been here five years and learned a TON from you guys, but it seems like I am still struggling in certain areas. Thank you for your information.

Boehner was Brer Rabbit the last couple of years. He lay low.

Pence is more visceral, and Ryan has the smarts. Cantor’s an insider Progressive. But I bet he’d give McCain a what for.

I suppose it all depends on who knows where the deepest skeleton closets are........

I am glad someone remembers Cantor’s role in this attempt to remake the GOP in the image of the moderates. If we really want change, Cantor is not the person we want as Number 2 in the House.
