GOP takes control of Alabama Legislature after 136 years

MONTGOMERY -- Republicans on Tuesday appeared to take control of the Alabama Legislature, with top Republicans claiming to have close to 60 seats in the 105-member House of Representatives and perhaps 22 seats in the 35-member Senate.

GOP also sweeps statewide offices...Gov, Lt. Gov, Atty. Gen., SoS...picked up a congressional seat (Roby (R) def Bright (D))

Didn’t get the Kentucky House though, that’s too bad.

The South is still completing a realignment that began in 1994. There are still a few statehouse run by the Rats.

Here in Oklahoma, except for one Dem congressman, just about all statewide offices went GOP.
