Blake Farenthold (R) beats US Rep. Solomon Ortiz by 799 votes
I'd surmise that the retired military vote in the area was a plus for Blake Farenthold.
I’m watching TX 23. Canseco(R) ahead of Rodriguez(D) incumbent, but I find it odd that Val Verde County is reporting 0% of it’s precincts..
I’d heard he was in trouble, but wow is right.
Well, that’s what you get when you call for a boycott of your own state.
I was at the victory T.G.I. Friday’s when Blake announced the news.
Nice! Will there be a recount? What’s the percentage on the win?
Good.
The nasty Demorat’s smear campaign on him didn’t work!
Finally, Val Verde has 17 of it’s 18 precincts reporting in.
Canseco only took about 40% of Val Verde County, but it was enough with the leads he had in Bexar & other Counties.
Another Dem House Seat goes R!
YEA!!!!!
Watched the results all night and it was tight most of the time. Cameron County also kept our incumbent Republican county judge Cascos by about 80 votes.
The Ortiz dynasty is over. Both Ortizes lost tonight! Solly Jr. got beat in his race to be reelected to the TX legislature.

Awesome!
Texas is kicking some serious @ss. Down ballot is looking pretty good. We might just make some progress this next session.
Solomon Ortiz (I) 50,155 == 47%
R. Blake Farenthold 50,954 == 48%
Ed Mishou 5,371 == 5%
Wow! I remember when Ortiz was first elected in this district.
Isn’t this ‘Ducky Pajamas’ Fahrenthold, the grandson of Texas Democrat legend ‘Sissy’ Fahrenthold?
One of the few good pieces of news all night.
Yes, step grandson.
Last night was a triumph!
Woot!
A close one goes our way!
