Russ Carnahan in trouble (MO-3)
MO Sec. of State's Website ^

Posted on 11/02/2010 8:56:26 PM PDT by gopno1

Russ Carnahan down by over 2,000 votes with 91% reporting.

This is the old Dick Gephardt seat. Usually a 10-12 pt. win for the Democrat.

How many Carnahans are there? Do any of them work in the private sector or are all of them destined to ride their dead father’s coat tails to a free ride?

Speaking of political family dynasties, did the Kennedy seat in RI go to the GOP tonight?

This is a tight one... Been following it all night... I’m in St. Chuck County, we did well tonight... although Prop B. is 50/50...

Sadly the Udall, Lujan (NM) and Cuomo dynasties are still alive.

Anyone know if the last Kennedy lost tonight? I think it was in RI. Hopefully the Carnahan dyNASTY ends tonight.

Isn’t this the district most likely to go away if Missouri loses a seat in redistricting?

My sentiments exactly. The Carnahans need to go... political dynasties are poison for the people of this country.

They're the bedbugs of Missouri.

Ste. Gen and Jefferson counties are all in. Just the city and county left. Martin was strong in my section of south St Louis, and there’s only 7 precincts left there. 22 precincts in south county.

One of the brothers uses other people’s money to build wind farms.

There is 1 other besides tonites 2 losers and that brother managed to get 107 million of the Obamabucks for a windmill farm. This did not win Robin or Russ any votes - it was brought up in both their races.

Except there's no cool band called The Dead Carnahans.

I don’t know about redistricting, but I hope for defeat of both Carnahans.

This shocked me. I had no idea the seat was in play. It bugs me that no new precincts have reported in quite awhile.

What! Rubber Stamp Rusty is going down??!!! Here is some insight:

a. The Chrysler plant in his district closed last year and he had a fairly anemic response.
b. His brother Tom Carnahan got a lot of stimulus money for a wind farm in northern MO.
c. There was a flier sent in the 2004 election by his opponent that broke rules. The opponent (who lost the primary), another politician, and an operative are currently serving time in jail. There are A LOT of dem’s upset that Russ forced the issue and may not have voted.

We lived in their hometown when Mel Carnahan and another son died in a plane crash in Oct. 2000. Mel was governor of MO at the time and was running for US senate against John Ashcroft. Ashcroft suspended his campaign out of respect for the grief of the Carnahan family. Instead of suspending their campaign, the Carnahans started the “Keep the flame alive” campaign and succeeded in getting a dead man elected to the Senate. Mel's wife Jean was so broken up after the deaths she accepted the appointment by the Dem. Lt. Gov. to serve in the US senate in Mel's place. I hope we have seen the last of these political opportunists.
