A few hours ago Christine was trading @ $7 / share on intrade. Now she's up to $15 / share. Biggest jump (more than 100%) on any political race/outcome on intrade today, thus far.
The Independents are crucial to an O’Donnell win, that’s for sure. Looks like she needs 70%+ of the Indy vote.
“No we would NEVER do that!”
I am not talking about satire or lampooning by the rabble of our great nation. That can’t even be controlled.
I am talking about serious campaign efforts.
O’Donnell was seriously accused of witchcraft. Haley and O’Donnell were both accused of having some sort of sex when they were single. Whitman was called a “whore,” by Jerry Brown’s wife, who, on tape, agreed with her. The President of NOW in California then on record agreed, yes, she is a whore.

If Rove had not trashed her ..I think she could have won...Blame the GOP establishment...If the wave is big enough she may get in....these are really blue states...
“The Entire DE US Senate race has been beyound wierd! I just dony know WHAT to think. Anyone here have any thoughts concerning this?”
Something must be up in Delaware. Joe “Bite Me” and Zero have made numerous trips to campaign for the bearded Marxist. Why make so many trips if it’s a blowout?
She is the one person I want dragged over the finish line tonight.
It’s +12 over registered voters in DE.
The poll with Christine down by 10 was +12.
That was the better of the 2 polls. We don’t know if election day results will track with absentees, we don’t know if the polls are right (this one gave Christine the advantage with Indies, but only 71% R, the other one gave 76% R)
The action on the ground is all Christine, if that’s any indication. Her rally was 1,000+ (some might’ve expected Palin, to undersell that rally) The Biden / Coons rally was 200 at most.
In terms of facebook, which might turn out to be a very good enthusiasm gauge, Christine has always had the lead in number of fans, but over the last weeks, days, even hours, Christine is accelerating way past Coons on that measure.
Since midnight, Christine has gotten 201 “likes” and Coons has got 18.
So, on measures of intensity which can drive turnout, Christine certainly seems to have the more passionate supporters.
I would say the final poll numbers will look better than that. Support for COD has definitely surged in the past 2 weeks.
I thought about learning how to use intrade weeks ago. I felt it just wouldn’t be right to do that, it wouldn’t help Christine.
A lot of people feel the same way. This is the one I want.
I agree and Rove is now on the move against Palin.
Many of us here knew he was troubling over immigration and Harriet Meirs and other PC stuff but we were shouted down by NeoCons and RINOs and Bots...it’s no surprise to me. Rove may have been useful but his train has left the station.
I think she’ll win. But you’re right that Rove is poison. Can he be officially “fired” by the Republicans? The Republican Party can release an official statement that “Rove is not speaking for us. This is his own thing, not ours. He does not represent us in any way.”
Nope - he gets to serve the remainder of Martinez’ term. I wish Rubio could be sworn in tomorrow, but that isn’t the case.
That is nonsense. All of those seats have senators in them. Roland Burris in IL, Ed Kaufman in DE, and Carte Goodwin in WV.
You’ve also forgotten Colorado, where Bennett is an appointed senator and NY where Gillibrand is appointed. That’s in addition to the aforementioned Florida seat.
Anyone who wins in this election for a seat currently held by an appointed senator can immediately demand to be seated. It remains to be seen whether or not that will actually happen.
Based on that turnout, if Christine can get Republican to support her at the same rate as Coons can get Democratic support, she needs about 60-40 split among independents to pull out a close one.
What happened in San Francisco is very relevant.
The Giants won the World Series. There were riots.
All those people are, if not rioting, partying. And they’re all taking the day off. And they will be voting. Because their star pitcher, Linsicum(sp?) said, I think, “Vote Yes on Prop 19” or made some pro marijuana statement. And everybody in San Fran is going to vote. And it’s not because of Boxer or Fiorina or Brown or Whitman. It’s because of the Giants, and Linsicum and Prop 19. These are extremely enthused voters. They’re enthused about the Giants, but enthused nonetheless. And Prop 19 gives them a reason to go vote. I looked at California polls a while ago. As I recall, Whitman did comparatively better among young people than Fiorina, so Fiorina is more likely to be hurt by enthused young Giants / Prop 19 votes.
Is that Florida law? I couldn’t find anything on that.
A friend of mine said he thought Rove deserves to be treated the same way by us as he treated COD. From this point forward, lets give Rove what he deserves: constant badgering, practical jokes, pranks, pies in the face, pour our drinks on him in restaurants, hit him on the back when we say hello, but hit him just a little too hard.
It’s all GOOD FUN ain’t it Rove. It’s just a practical joke.... he likes practical jokes. He thinks it’s OK, to mischaracterize the character of a good Christian woman like Christine O.
Rove works for the establishment... When conservatives win the majority in 2010, Rove will gladly be the first to bring us down to defeat again like he did in 2006.... IF we give him a chance. Let’s not forget this guy’s motivation.
