More Media Shenanigans: Delaware TV Station 'Forgets' to Broadcast O'Donnell 30 Minute Ads
Monday, November 1, 2010 | Kristinn

Posted on 11/01/2010 7:40:03 AM PDT by kristinn

The Christine O'Donnell campaign bought three thirty minute blocks of time on Delaware TV channel 28 to broadcast an infomercial on her candidacy the last two days before Tuesday's election.

Last night's scheduled 11:30 broadcast failed to happen. This morning, the scheduled 10:00 broadcast also failed to happen.

The O'Donnell campaign just Tweeted about the incidents:

This isn't our show either! We are told channel 28 "forgot" to air it...both times... even though we paid for the time slot last week.
4 minutes ago via txt

The infomercial, entitled We the People, was posted this morning to O'Donnell's campaign website and can be viewed here.

The next scheduled broadcast is for 3:00 p.m. today.

Yeah right....
That explains 75% registered as Dems. Guess we’ll see just how conservative it is Tuesday evening.

My apology, should have better referred to “political enema” orifice for the USA. I am sure Deleware is very pretty, although unlikely comparable to TEXAS.

Actually, if 1000 people filed complaints against the station to the FCC and asked that the complaints be put into stations re-licensing file for its next FCC re-licensing review...

I doubt they have an FCC license. They're a cable channel, with no broadcast signal.

I want her to win just as strong as you.
I love Glenn Beck and have supported him in every way but I am disgusted with how his bunch have treated Christine.

An alternative explanation is O’Donnell has brilliantly engineered this, delaying getting the tape to the station so that it couldn’t run, then getting wide publicity over the fact that “they” are keeping her from getting her message out. She’s getting far more publicity (and outrage) out of this than she would if her spot had actually gone out on a cable station that even Delaware Freepers say they’ve never heard of.

“SUE!!! SUE NOW!!!”

Maybe the Republican Party in the state can acknowledge that she IS the right candidate, step up to the plate, and slap a huge lawsuit on this station.

....I question these things as someone who has donated not insignificantly to Christine O’Donnell’s campaign. I find these reports more than a little disconcerting....

Don’t worry, your campaign contributions will be well used by Miss O’Donnell during her next two quixotic senate campaigns. Not a penny will be wasted. She needs a larger apartment, oops, I meant to write campaign headquarters; there will be plenty of fund-raising trips to Florida and California that will have to be paid for; and her wardrobe must be brought up to date to keep current with the latest fashions circa 2014 and 2020. There may even be a few dollars left to purchase advertising time on the community access station that no one watches between 1 and 3 in the morning on the Sunday before election day. You will enjoy the spectacle immensely. Meanwhile, Delaware will stay as blue as the University of Delaware mascot.

O’Donnell should demand another 30 minute spot for the missed spot. Prime time TONIGHT (between 7 and 8 pm) would be good. Or she should sue for breach of contract and ask for damages. What price can you put on loss of Senate seat? What is the salary for a Senator for six years plus Medical coverage and all those other perks? She just might end up owning the station.

No, the media isn’t biased.

What would lead you to think it was? Your racist, hate filled philosophy? :)

Megyn Kelly on FNC just mentioned there was an audio problem with FNC in Ohio and they were working hard to correct it.

The campaign was told everything was squared away and the ad was scheduled to run. Now the station is telling people who call them the problem was the campaign’s fault. I’m sure they are spinning that story to the Lib media.

I hope the campaign is recording their phone conversations to catch people that lie to them.

I had the same thing happen at my house. I fixed my TVs by going to my comcast remote and going into the setup mode.

OMG the media must be stopped. Go viral with this freepers.

That would be infinitely easier if O'Donnell allowed the video to be downloaded to our hard drives to share with friends and family.

Also, of course, to post on YouTube.

WAPO:

Tim Qualls, executive producer at Channel 28, said in an interview the ad did not air because O’Donnell’s campaign did not bring a tape to the production studio by the agreed upon deadline. She reserved the time on Thursday, for $2,500, and agreed to bring a tape by Friday at 5 p.m., Qualls said.

“I did not receive a tape until Sunday night at one of my employees’ houses,” Qualls said. “It has nothing to do with us refusing to air it. I just didn’t get the tape by my deadline.”

Of course.

But her campaign manager isn’t bright enough to think of this.
