WASHINGTON Fifty years after the pill, another birth control revolution may be on the horizon: free contraception for women in the U.S., thanks to the new health care law. That could start a shift toward more reliable and expensive forms of birth control that are gaining acceptance in other developed countries. But first, look for a fight over social mores.A panel of experts advising the government meets in November to begin considering what kind of preventive care for women should be covered at no cost to the patient, as required under President Barack Obama's overhaul.Sen. It's ridiculous that the cost of the pill is $25-45 a month.
It's even more ridiculous to desire an abortion when the pregnancy could have easily been prevented. Dumb....just plain dumb.

Free contraception has always been available to women, the first, of course, is to just say "no".
The 2nd is to hold a golf ball between your knees.
Seriously, this is just the democrats offering promising more freebies if you will just vote for them and give them just one more, teensy, little chance to show you that their ideas will work, given enough time.
Aren't they pitiful?
For your vote they offer you the democrat equivilent of a "Happy Meal"...which has a free....FREE....prize in it.
Never mind that the burger than comes with that prize is dried shoe leather and the fries are made of tofu...you get a FREE Prize for every vote.
A pathetic bunch, for sure.
It never rings true to the chia pets that if they have to promise you free money and glass beads, their policies must really suck.

Health insurance doesn’t look free from where I’m sitting. Democrats don’t seem to worry about the details though, as long as they can get a good headline.

Whatever happened to the IUD? Did they trade them in for IEDs?
Seriesly, I recall in the '60s when the UN was going to implant the third world to stop starvation or somesuch, and they've been out of sight since...

They decided they could kill more third world babies by baning DDT and letting malaria flourish. It was a win-win, more birdies and less babies. Ain't liberalism wonderful?

I thought one of the problems with America was that the birthrate was so low that it was below the replacement level for people living here legally.

I thought one of the problems with America was that the birthrate was so low that it was below the replacement level for people living here legally. Only barely so.
Hispanic levels are above the replacement rate; white non-Hispanic levels below; blacks right at the replacement level. Overall, however, it's only a little below replacement, allowing us some legal immigration.
