National Football League Backs Reid Over Angle; Invests $340,000 to Save Incumbent Congress
CNS News ^

The National Football League’s political action committee—Gridiron PAC—has weighed in on the hotly contested U.S. Senate election in Nevada that pits conservative Republican challenger Sharron Angle against Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid.

The PAC has given $10,000 to Reid—the maximum it can give in a single election cycle—and no money to Angle, according to Federal Election Commission data compiled by OpenSecrets.org.

The NFL’s PAC also contributed to other incumbent Democratic senators facing viable challengers this year, giving $5,000 to Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas; $5,000 to Russ Feingold of Wisconsin; $5,000 to Barbara Boxer of California; $5,000 to Michael Bennet of Colorado; and $5,000 to Patty Murray of Washington.

In none of these races did the NFL’s PAC contribute to the Republican challenger.

Good luck making truck loads of money under communism.
Dolts.

My thoughts also!.....Who’s going to pay the prices to fill these monster stadiums when our taxes go throught the roof! The NFL is shooting itselft in the ass by supporting liberals.

After actually reading the article verses assuming malfeasance on the part of the NFL it's more of a “business as usual” than a political statement

Only time will tell next election cycle if this template holds true that is simply an incumbent thing

The leftists have managed to completely pollute every institution we have. It was a great game in the 80’s/90’s but I started losing interest after 2001...as it was becoming increasingly apparent that it was going left. The racial make-up started grating on my nerves when the ratio hit appx. 75% minority in players (that figure was cited during the early 2000’s by NFL commissioner)not because the minority players weren’t good enough but because it was another obvious social engineering tactic. Then the things that made football a great game to watch, certain hits etc started becoming federal offenses. And on and on.

Shove it NFL. Sports should be apolitical. Who does the NFL think has supported their asses all these years?

Haven’t followed ANY pro sport (other than NASCAR) since the ‘90s when they started going out on strike.

Screw’em!! I’m fed up with these overpaid crybabies who, from year-to-year act like each uear is their first in the sport and they make all kinds of excuses why they aren’t winning games.

I dumped TV in 1997. If I were into televises sports that would not have been possible.

The movie “Rollerball” put a new perspective on professional sports for me. The FIRST baseball strike was the end of any interest I ever had in pro sports. Or any “televised” sports for that matter. I see it as just a business. Nothing more.

I do enjoy catching the occasional AAA baseball game though.

I’ve had a hard time getting excited about football this season, and this pretty much sealed the deal for me. I guess from here on out I’m strictly an auto racing fan...

If conservatives boycott the NFL, they can sell their exorbitantly overpriced tickets to government employees, the only fat cats that will be able to afford them.

The only worthwhile thing about football is the stuper bowl commercials.

Most of the amatuer hockey players that I deal with can’t stand pOs. I’m sure that goes for the American NHL players too.

The NFL better watch it here, neutral should be their stand... if they go Dems, I say “F” them and will never spend another dime on their products.

Good for you. I’ve been without a tv for over a year now. I was never really ‘hooked’ on sports but enjoyed having the games on in the afternoon and following them.

I remember when the NFL was mostly conservative; that’s what makes this article so disgusting. The leftists aren’t happy until they’ve obliterated everything that reflects America at its best. All the traditions, all the institutions have become corrupted with unhinged policies and tactics.
