I believe his mother was the famous Hollywood actress, Helen Hayes.
If wrong, please correct me. The elections have caused me so much stress, my brain seems to be mush!

This is very sad news.
I was hoping Danno would be able to book "O". maybe he still can as an angel :-)
RIP

You are correct. He was adopted by Helen Hayes when he was a baby.
To: pissant
Helen Hayes's son (or stepson). She lived to 92. His father, Charles MacArthur died at 60.
James was married to Joyce Bulifant and then Melody Patterson, both familiar to TV audiences of the 60s or 70s.
"Danno" didn't act much after 5-0, but his uncle, John D. MacArthur, was a billionaire, so maybe he didn't need to.

There were talks about him guest starring on the new series. It’s too bad, I was looking forward to that.

Hate to poop on your party but people don't become angels when they die. May he rest in peace.

Before he was Danno, I knew him as the green Lieutenant Weaver, who survived the Malmedy Massacre and ultimately saved the day in "Battle of the Bulge."
