The survey released Thursday by Fairleigh Dickinson University-PublicMind shows Coons holding a commanding lead of 21 points, with 57 percent of likely voters saying they will vote for Coons compared to just 36 percent for O'Donnell.

Since Castle isn't willing to vote Conservative or with Republicans even half of the time, Christine O'Donnell in that race was THE ONLY choice. There is a point at which Republican Candidates are so far left, they are worthless to our cause, as in Castle's case.

If Christine had support from ALL Republicans, and if Mike Castle and his minions hadn't run such a vicious campaign, she might be in a dead heat right now.

Christine is NOT a terrible candidate. She's weaker on the resume than most who run for Senate, but is extremely knowledgeable on the issues, articulate and charismatic. I invited her to speak at our "Take Back Congress" Tea Party at Independence Hall on April 17th, along with 15 other Congressional regional candidates. Someone recently reminded me how impressed we all were with her after she delivered her speech, even the other candidates, and as he said, "She's definitely GOT it...meaning a tremendous personality and presence. VERY FEW candidates possess her talent to that degree. One person donated $500 to her campaign, right there on the spot, unsolicited. To my knowledge that didn't happen with any of the other candidates, as impressive as some of them were, most of whom are currently ahead of their Democrat opponents in this area.

Pretty, energetic and youthful Christine is far more impressive and articulate btw, than TIRED, OLD, WORN OUT Castle and made the better candidate, until the left and the Republican Establishment, went way over the top in their efforts to RUIN her. Absolutely disgraceful.

But it ain't over 'til it's over, and it ain't over. Her supporters will continue to work and pray hard on her behalf, and we'll wait for the mother of all polls November 2.

Your tendency to point out all of O'Donnell's flaws seems to indicate you're also not one of her supporters either.

LMHO!!!

Of course, I'm not pointing out NEARLY all of her flaws! As I've said many times, I'm holding back and not addressing things until they come out into general circulation! The fact that the Coons campaign hasn't felt the need to bring out much shows me that the polls are relatively correct and that he's ahead. If he felt threatened, he'd be firing back at her instead of just playing it safe.

Would you care to enlighten us as to just who you DO support?

Many. Right now I'm focusing on George Phillips (NY-22)mostly, but there are many good candidates who are conservative, honest, electable, and in need of support.

Don't act cute and pretend you didn't know I meant "Who are you supporting in THIS RACE."

Just be willing to admit it. By doing what you can to destroy support (including financial support) for O'Donnell you are de facto supporting Coons in his race against her.

You can publicly flog long time Republican Ad Producer Fred Davis, who did ads for McCain. Wouldn’t be surprised if those ads were intentionally bad.

Since Castle isn't willing to vote Conservative or with Republicans even half of the time

He will vote with conservatives vastly more often than Coons would have - and Castle would have won and everyone knew it. His biggest vote is the one that matters most - he would have voted for McConnell for Majority Leader. It's as if some people do not understand how important it is to be in the majority in the Senate. That allows US to set the agenda instead of the Democrats. There is a world of difference between being in the majority and being in the minority.

There is a point at which Republican Candidates are so far left, they are worthless to our cause, as in Castle's case.

Sometimes this may be the case. There are times where RINO's are so destructive to our own side that it is just not worth having them. But when the Senate may be at stake? No, the smart move here was nominating a candidate that would have won and giving ourselves a chance of taking a majority in the Senate.

Christine is NOT a terrible candidate....

Despite your arguments on her behalf, she really is kind of a terrible candidate. I'm sorry, I know your very enthusiastic about her, but all that matters is how the candidate will do running for the office he or she is nominated for. Christine never had a chance here, and that makes her a a bad candidate for this job. If your candidate runs ads informing the public she is not a witch (even in jest), you can rest assured that candidate is going to come out a loser.

Her supporters will continue to work and pray hard on her behalf, and we'll wait for the mother of all polls November 2.

Well, let's hope for the best.

I admit that I'm not perfect...I've set aside my ethics some and held my nose and supported her, but mainly I've been against Chris Coons and liberalism.

It's sad that an honest evaluation of candidates is verboten now, and that deceit and goosestepping in lockstep (while hiding bodies in the attic) are supposedly the hallmarks of "conservatism" these days.

Sorry, but I'm old school--from when character counted and honesty mattered, and we fought for principles, not personality cults. I know that's all considered old-fashioned, but even if it's passé, I can't start lying just to avoid the insults of the Inquisition calling me a heretic because I follow principles that I've fought for over decades of time...I refuse to become that which I've fought, the lying, despicable ends-justify-the-means sleaze that typifies modern liberalism.

Note...mixed imagery was intentional. This runs through history--fighting this ugliness and corruption requires constant vigilance.

Coons hasn’t had to do it, because his friends have been doing it for him. After all the negativity backfired on Castle, it was highly unlikely the Coons campaign itself, would go negative on Christine.

I've actively worked against Chris Coons in this race.

Christine O'Donnell has worked to hurt her own candidacy for many years... Nothing I say would have any effect if she hadn't lain the groundwork...and heck, if she were honest, I'd be actively supporting her! But it's no wonder why there are droves of people who get to know her and suddenly drop support for her and start blowing whistles!

Let's start with one... If someone claimed to need money for an operation and then turned out not to have anything wrong, you'd be upset at the lie being told to take your money. Why was it okay for Miss O'Donnell to lie to out-of-staters to do fundraising and then get angry when she's caught at it?

Why is it wrong to ask that question? If she were a liberal doing that, you'd be blasting her and pretending you'd never accept that as a conservative, wouldn't you?

Huh? There's been very little negative brought out about her!

She's got a boneyard in her closet, and a few femurs and Eyes of Newt tumble out and you think you're seeing skeletons?!

You're from Texas and I'm from the Chicago area...Chicago, talk about a hell hole for conservatives!

I'm originally from Pennsylvania and fled that state many decades ago because of the hammerlock of the union thugs. Although there are some fine Conservatives in the Keystone State, I just couldn't take beating my head against the entrenched Democrat machine and thus became a "Texan by injection".

It's fascinating how locale can influence one's ideas about political orientation. Governor Rick Perry has all of the traits of a RINO and is generally not much liked by staunch Conservatives here such as myself. But I'd imagine if Perry were transformed to either Illinois or Pennsylvania, he'd be perceived as extremely Conservative.

To your list of the brave, fighting patriots, I'm also excited about what a Tom Tancredo win would mean not only to Colorado but to the entire nation. The presence of Governor Tancredo would send a clear sign that our nation is fed up with amnesty, insecure borders and the ongoing La Raza invasion.

On the lighter side, if it turns out that our beloved Texas Rangers lose the hugh World Serious (which now seems where they're headed after the first game debacle), all will be made right on November 2nd with victories by Christine O'Donnell, Michele Bachmann, Tom Tancredo, Sharron Angle, Carl Paladino, Jan Brewer, Joe Miller and the other truly Great Americans!

Ask Christine O'Donnell. She's the one who ran a write-in campaign after coming in third in the GOP primary back in 2006 when she didn't like the GOP nominee.

And where is the outrage at COD for refusing to support and endorse the winner of the Republican Senate primary in 2006?

She only got 18% of the vote in that primary too, and STILL didn't get behind the winner to support the Party.

The hypocrisy is amazing.

As far as I am concerned, all the O’Donnell bashers can shove it.

Like Jim DeMint, I’d rather lose and be right than win and have RINOs.

O’Donnell is right on the issues. The people of Delaware will realize that someday. I hope that day comes before November 2. But if it doesn’t, I’ll be patient. The day WILL come—and the truth will win out in the end.

Expediency for liberty is not a good trade off.
I am glad Castle is out.

IN 2008, Castle's ACU rating was 28%. That's not enough.

Castle, btw is a LEFTIST, who voted FOR Cap and Trade and reluctantly voted against Obamacare, a decision he made three days prior to the vote. He said he would not vote to repeal Obamacare. There is absolutely no guarantee he would vote with Republicans instead of Democrats more than 30% of the time.

We disagree about Christine's prospects for victory. With everyone behind her, this is a race she could have won, and BTW, still might.

It would seem ROVE and the rest of the Republican establishment, don't seem to understand how important the majority is in the Senate. Otherwise, they would've kept their BIG MOUTHS SHUT and backed Christine, once Castle lost. Instead, just after she won and for several days thereafter, they were all over cable networks, harshly criticizing Christine, writing negative articles and whining that Christine couldn't win, which makes victory for her, all the more difficult.

You seem to be doing it in stealth mode. I'm only seeing you working against O'Donnell.

Although I would of course wish that everyone be as ethical as I strive to be, I'm not sure if I've ever done much criticism of Democrats over issues like you bring up. I generally focus on what direction the country will be moving by the politician's performance of their duties if elected.

Are you kidding me?

The woman's financial and work history and almost every public word she's ever uttered has been dissected ad nauseum. Leftist blogs have been releasing stories, most of which can't be proven one way or the other, about anyone she's ever dated.

Her past neighbors have been approached, questioned and their negative comments have been publicized. The attacks on Christine are some of the worst I've ever seen.

Well not to defend Castle, but Reid didn’t have nor does he have near 60 votes for cap and trade which is why it never passed nor even came up for a vote in the Senate. There are at least 6-8 coal state Democrats who’d never have voted for cap and trade. And after the election there’d be even fewer Democrats in the Senate to support cap and trade. Castle being there wouldn’t have changed anything in that regard.

Of course this was fabricated among Academia and selected Liberal/Marxist students.

Student conducting the poll: "Well, I couldn't ACTUALLY get anyone on the phone during my shift, but no one I know is voting for her so I just gave her a 0 and Coons a +50."

It's 2010 now and Obama has since been elected and the stakes are higher. Tough to get angry about something that happened in 2006 as much as we may disagree.

If Castle had won, Christine should have endorsed him. That's the way it works.

I personally hate write in campaigns. Castle was going to wage one, until he realized his candidacy would take votes away from Coons and O'Donnell would win. Yep, the hypocrisy is on both sides. And btw, it's no excuse for the bad behavior of either.

See, this is where your going wrong. Even if every Republican in the entire country got behind her she was going to lose. She is not a good fit for statewide office in Delaware at this time.

Knowing this is why the establishment and analysts who understand political realities made such an effort to make sure Castle (the candidate who could win this Senate seat) won the primary. With this in mind, of course Castle and Republican's who understood the stakes threw everything at her in the closing weeks. It is not as if Democrats weren't going to use the same Oppo Research once the general election campaign got going.

You really can't blame them when you realize that these people are in the business of winning elections. It's their life. They knew if COD won that primary it would mean one lost Senate seat. Our excellent chance at a pickup in that state evaporated the minute COD declared victory in her primary.

And while I do agree, every Republican should support and vote for her. This argument is worth having. We are going to lose some races this cycle because we nominated bad candidates. It's something we should avoid doing in the future and this can be a learning experience.

And I still find it hypocritical that Christine is angry that the "establishment" didn't support and endorse her considering she did the exact same thing in 2006 by running as a write in.
