Mystery group promotes Labno with mailer downstate
Chicago Sun-Times ^ | October 26, 2010 | ABDON M. PALLASCH

Posted on 10/26/2010 11:03:42 PM PDT by aruanan

A mailer landing in Downstate mailboxes promotes Libertarian U.S. Senate candidate Mike Labno as “the only pro-Life, pro-Gun candidate for U.S. Senate.”

Only the mailer doesn’t appear to come from Labno’s campaign.

A line on the flier claims it’s paid for by “Illinois Victory, a project of the Lake County Democratic Party.”

State Sen. Terry Link (D-Vernon Hills) heads up the Lake County Democratic Party, which he said has no “Illinois Victory” project. Link said he had never heard of the mailer until told of it by the Sun-Times Tuesday night.

Supporters of Democratic Senate nominee Alexi Giannoulias have unofficially promoted Labno’s candidacy as a way to siphon votes from Republican Senate candidate Mark Kirk, who, through his 10 years in the U.S. House of Representatives, cultivated a record as a moderate Republican, endorsed by Planned Parenthood and gun control groups.

Rich Miller’s CapitolFaxBlog posted images of the flyer Tuesday night.

The front of the flyer has a picture of Kirk with the question “Not a conservative?”

Inside, the flyer has a photo of Labno.

Then, on the back, it offers a picture of Giannoulias, saying, “While Labno and Kirk fight over labels, Alexi Giannoulias is fighting for Illinois jobs.”

In some states the Democrats are promoting fake Tea Party candidates; here in Illinois, they're promoting a Libertarian candidate as a means of siphoning votes from Giannoulias's Republican opponent. Go, Ross, go! You think some people would have learned by now.

No pro-lifer should be voting for a candidate that is a member of a pro-abortion party anyway, no matter what he says.

Could this be an unanticipated consequence of the recent Supreme Court ruling that said people and corporations could support candidates anonymously?

If one, by his action or inaction, enables Kirk's opponent, who is even worse and a Democrat, he is promoting the worse outcome. It doesn't make any difference that one says that his intent is pure if the result (a Democrat Party-controlled U.S. Senate able, in the lame duck session, to pass along to Obama for his signature anything the lame duck House sends to it) is not.

Kirk's getting a smackdown because even the brain dead Chicago RATs have more brains than the RINOs in this state. The RATs have figured out that Republican candidates can't be "more electable" if they fail to win over their own base. The RINOs still haven't caught on to this, and continue to shove socialists down on throats, claiming they will appeal to more voters in "blue states"

If the RATs want to take down a fellow liberal like Kirk, I welcome it. They did the same thing with LIEberman and several conservatives were stupid enough to interfer and save the socialist liar's butt.

I think you may need to go back and review the Citizens United decision. Here's a link to what the decision was actually about: Media Insiders Ousted by Citizens United v. FEC

DEFEAT SOCIALIST MARK KIRK ! (help elect socialist Alexis Giannoulias)

The facts:
>it's going to be either Kirk or Giannoulias;
>the winner will help determine the control of the Senate during this lame duck session;
>a Giannoulias win will definitely be a vote for whatever the House passes on to the Senate;
>once it passes the Senate, it will be signed into law by Barry.
Because of this, a vote for anyone else other than the main opposition to Giannoulias is a vote for Giannoulias, a vote for what Pelosi has promised to do during the lame duck session, and a vote for Barry saddling the U.S. with even more destructive laws.

The "Well, I'm standing for principles!" won't fly if your actions result in the election of people who are most directly opposed to your principles.

So are you denying Mark Kirk is a Socialist ? Or would you just prefer another Trojan Horse who will vote exactly like a leftist Democrat serving in (and undermining) the GOP ? I mean, seriously, how exactly do you think Kirk is going to vote ? You think he’ll vote to STOP the liberal agenda, the same agenda he has unapologetically supported since Day #1 in Congress ? Pro-abort, pro-illegals, pro-big government, etc., etc. ? He’s the puppet for the most corrupt political machine in the United States, the IL Combine, the SAME political machine that Zero, Blago, Rahm, LaHood and crew all hail from. Tell me again how he is better than Alexi ? Alexi who is the ringer for Kirk ? No, better the crook who will soon be going to jail so Gov. Brady can appoint someone with a shred of integrity (and remotely right of center who actually WILL fight against corrupt, leftist government that Mark Kirk loves above all else). At least Alexi isn’t dishonest about his party label and his ideology. That’s more than you can say for Mark Kirk.

It’s a tight race and their underhanded bs could hurt.

Your mania has undermined your reason. If it came to a matter of 1 senator either Republican or Democrat to put the Senate in the control of Republicans or lose control to the Democrats (especially in this lame duck session), it would be better to put a Republican in who is more liberal than a Democrat who is more conservative. The Senate being under the control of the Republican party will have a much greater impact on what does and doesn't get done than electing a conservative Democrat (especially by withholding a vote for the nominal Republican) with the result being a Harry Reid Senate.

Of course, Giannoulias is by no means a conservative Democrat and his election (especially by withholding a vote for the nominal Republican) would put the Democrat Party one step closer to maintaining control of the Senate (if it came to a 50/50 tie, it would remain under Democrat control). And your vote for someone other than Giannoulias's main opponent or your non-vote is, literally, a vote for Giannoulias and the Obama agenda.

Rep. Kirk (my congressman) isn’t moderate. He’s more liberal than many Democrats. According to www.vote-smart.org, these are some of Rep. Kirk’s latest interest group ratings: Planned Parenthood, 100%; AFL-CIO, 48%: ACLU, 45%; NAACP, 44%; NEA, B; Americans for Democratic Action, 35%; Gun Owners of America, F-; ACU, 58%.; and John Birch Society, 33%. Each of these ratings is for the latest year that is available, usually 2010 or ’09. None of them is a lifetime rating.

If I thought that the race would be close, I would have voted for Kirk, since I didn’t want to help split the anti-Alexi vote, helping Alexi win, with 48%-50%. I voted yesterday, and I think that the margin of victory will be at least 5%. I voted for Mike Labno, the only conservative, in that race.

No pro-lifer should be voting for a proven radically proabortion candidate like Kirk. Mike Labno is Catholic and Pro-Life. Conservatives need to get their heads out of the elephant’s ass.

Do not vote for the most pro-abortion party, pro-homosexual, pro-pornography, pro-drugs, pro-TOTALLY OPEN borders party in America, ever, for any reason.

There is no “even worse”. The two major party candidates are horribly bad. They both are anti-liberty, anti-gun, and anti-life. What benefit do we actually get from supporting Kirk? Is is going to be like California where everyone including I got excited about Schwarzenegger? What did we get from that? What we get is a big old liberal club who gets to call himself a ‘moderate’ while he is used as a club to beat us ‘extremists’.
I thought this election was different but as one of Kirk’s ‘conservative’ supporters told me last night in response to the question about whether he wanted the Tea Parties to end ‘We want the Tea Parties to end and get back to before Obama was elected’.

Go ahead and vote for Kirk but don’t be crying when he confirms a liberal judge to the supreme court and all the progress on the issues you support is washed away. Principle is how we win. Letting these enemy agents into our camp does nothing but provide the media a club to beat us with. Its time to stop falling for the same old I’m a Republican first crap.

That’s nothing but debunked talking points, bro. You throw a fit and attack me personally that Kirk has been thoroughly exposed as a Socialist and member of Zero’s political machine and yet, on a Conservative website no less, tell us he’s going to be on OUR side ? The question is, what are you smoking, or what is the Combine paying you to post this crap ?
