The Louisville Courier-Journal reports that a female MoveOn.org supporter was attacked by backers of Kentucky GOP Senate candidate Rand Paul on Monday when she attempted to approach Paul outside his final debate with Democrat Jack Conway in Lexington.
At one point, violence broke out when Lauren Valle of MoveOn.org approached Paul and tried to give him an "employee of the month award" from Republicorp. Republicorp is a fake business MoveOn created to symbolize what it says is the merger of the GOP and business interests controlling political speech. Television video shows Valle, of Washington, D.C., being pushed to the ground and at least one foot stepping down on her head.

If you go in to enemy territory next to people who are passionate enough to get out of their homes and attend a political meeting, regardless of party affiliation, expect to NOT get a warm welcome when you crash the scene.
This is not a political thing, it’s a social thing. If someone did this in a church, wedding, school, funeral, you can bet they will provoke some kind of reaction which was the woman’s intent.
If you are going to go to jail for assault, at least do it right. The woman seemed to walk away with little harm done and mission accomplished. The news is all about her and nothing about the candidate or meeting.
This will now encourage loons everywhere to try this. Next time, send her out in an ambulance and strike some fear in to the hearts and minds of potential interlopers. That would put a stop to such foolish behavior.
then we become no better than the purple-shirted thugs that beat up Kenneth Gladney.
God forbid it comes to anything like that.
It's too bad that it would be counterproductive for Paul to prefer assault charges against HER (though he's up by so much that it might be okay). I don't expect there'll be any filed against the men who restrained her.
Parts America may have grown soft but don’t assume that because I recognize the wrong in this guy stepping on the woman after she was down and under control puts me in that group.

Not for nothing, but were you there? Did you witness this? Because if you didn't and it's not on the tape then how do you know?
We know better than to go up to one of their candidates or elected officials in a menacing manner and violate personal space, the left had better get a clue quick.
Fair enough... but remember your’s is just an opinion too... but a little less sympathy for the left’s foot soldiers would be nice. IMHO.

Again, don’t mistake my recognition of a wrong as sympathy for the victim. I never said I felt any. My only concern is that by, to me, clearly over-reacting this dope crossed the line and that will come back to bite us.

Witnesses whom you know personally?
I guarantee this situation will not hurt Rand Paul because the normal people of Kentucky understand this Moveon clown was there to stir up trouble and she got less than what she deserved.

While I disagree that she got less than what she deserved, I hope that you are right about it not hurting Paul.
Please read. The ones taking her down would not have known previously of her intent but based on an educated guess, it wasn't to shower him with praises. Also note, she was in disguise. A person with good intentions don't usually find a need to wear a disguise.
We will just agree to disagree... after being attacked by the left myself (Florida... Bush vs gore). I revel in the worm turning.

Security, amateur or pro, gets justifiably active when someone 'rushes' a candidate or celebrity.
Over at yahoo the howler lib monkeys are having a fit over this.
That joy will be short lived.
