The Louisville Courier-Journal reports that a female MoveOn.org supporter was attacked by backers of Kentucky GOP Senate candidate Rand Paul on Monday when she attempted to approach Paul outside his final debate with Democrat Jack Conway in Lexington.
At one point, violence broke out when Lauren Valle of MoveOn.org approached Paul and tried to give him an "employee of the month award" from Republicorp. Republicorp is a fake business MoveOn created to symbolize what it says is the merger of the GOP and business interests controlling political speech. Television video shows Valle, of Washington, D.C., being pushed to the ground and at least one foot stepping down on her head.

It ought to be. Remember when the Code Pink chick rushed Condoleeza Rice with her fake-blood hands, and we all said, why didn't somebody down her? This woman apparently tried to rush the candidate (no video of that, just verbal reports), and she got downed, JUST AS SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN. If she'd been beaten, she wouldn't have been up giving an interview without a mark on her just a few minutes later.

No you wouldn't have.
Maybe they’re really aliens or cyborgs.
rachael corey is another one of these leftists that got what she deserved. This woman would have been flogged 200 years ago. America has grown soft... dims and al qaeda have taken notice. Some of us are not so soft... and you will need all of us one day. Mark my words.

Is it too much to ask the identity of the man in the hat that put her to the ground?
Then I want the identity of the man with the foot on her back.
These people need to be prosecuted for assault. This cannot be tolerated.

Don’t be so quick to assume it was Rand Paul people.
Paul needs to get out in front of this, denounce it and explain why his beliefs don’t condone this behavior. He can mention she was with Moveon.org but then say that the act of stepping on people is reprehensible.
Right after she's charged with assaulting the candidate.
This cannot be tolerated.
It should be ENCOURAGED.
I don’t see the connection.
Unless Rand was hit/assaulted by the woman...it didn’t warrant that response.
Look. I want Rand to win and he will smartly come out and denounce such stuff, but I want to be clear. Be pragmatic and come out and end this and find out everyone who’s involved. Transparency for all.

I don’t recall Move.on stepping on people so I wouldn’t want to give them ammunition. If it was the SEIU, well, they were much more violent. However, this was just a random supporter and I’m sure Paul can illustrate this isn’t an official representative of his campaign.
The part not on video tape is that she rushed through the crowd to the front where Rand was exiting his vehicle, someone then recognized that she was in disguise.
Based on current personal experience, I would have hoped someone in the crowd would have put her down and if the crowd hadn’t then I guarantee Rand Paul’s Security would have and it would have turned out a lot worse for her already ugly face.
Ah...I didn’t see that part.
WashPo sure didn’t waste anytime getting this on their page.
Running up to the candidate in disguise, while shouting and waving an unrecognizable object (is it a gun? a bottle of acid? who knows?) damn well DOES warrant that response, by anyone who happens to be around.
I have not seen video of that part (don’t think there is any) so am relying on the description of events. They didn’t beat her, they only restrained her. That video I *HAVE* seen. I have no problem at all with the way they handled it, and I’d have no problem with liberals who handled a conservative assaulter the same way. It wouldn’t even need to be a political candidate for me to find it appropriate for bystanders to step in to such a situation.
Towards the beginning, you can see them pull a cheesy platinum-blonde wig off her. I might not have recognized it as such myself had I not been in a costume shop last night.
Thanks for describing the entire situation.
