Challenging Charlie (Black conservative--former Jets player--opposing Rangel)
NY POST ^ | 10/24/10 | EDITORIAL

Posted on 10/24/2010 5:28:26 AM PDT by Liz

Michael Faulkner is challenging Rangel on the Republican line. A former NY Jet, he’s pastor of Harlem's New Horizons Church. Faulkner advocates: * Cutting taxes and regs — especially for small business — to spark job creation. * Encouraging alternatives to public-education, including charters and full school choice. * Redoing O/Care to improve health care rather than reworking insurance. Harlem residents tired and embarrassed by Rangel’s conduct should vote for Faulkner Nov. 2.

One of the Nightly News shows did a segment on him campaigning on the streets-—poor guy could not get traction when he said he was a conservative.

So, when does the NAACP brand him as a bigot or a “Tom”.

They’re despicable.

Michael Faulkner should be an inspiration to all Americans of African descent.

Michael Faulkner should be an inspiration to all Americans!

Running for elective office on principle takes courage and sacrifice.

Note: the page (on the Workers World Party website) with this photo has recently been removed.

But here's other evidence of his speaking at the event:

"Among the many speakers were elected representatives—U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel and New York City Council members Charles Barron and Margarita Lopez—who have bucked their party to come out against the war. Barron has also introduced a Troops Out Now resolution in the City Council."--Workers World Party

Of all years for me to be unemployed, this is the worst. If I were working, I’d be contributing to all of these candidates. We are blessed to have so many great black conservatives running in this election cycle.

Not just Mr. Faulkner, but Isaac Hayes in Il, Cedra Crenshaw in IL, Star Parker in CA, Allen West in FL...and there are so many others. It’s an “embarassment of riches” and so many of us are unable to help them out, thanks to this miserable OBAMA economy.

It makes me mad, and I hope those who don’t win this time will run again.

I’m frustrated a bit.

www.faulknerforcongress.com

He was recently endorsed by Bronx State Senator, Ruben Diaz, a Democrat, who encouraged ALL Hispanic voters, to forget about party, and vote for Faulkner. The district, which is NOT only Harlem, has a Spanish population of about 45%

Monday, 10 AM, he will be having a press conference on the steps of NYC’s City Hall, to be endorsed my many Christian groups, OPPOSED to same sex marriage.

Tuesday, 12:30 RNC Bus tour to RETIRE Pelosi, makes a stop in Harlem with Michael Steele, Rev. Faulkner and others.

Can he win? It won’t be easy, but I think he will do well.

I have been somewhat involved with the Faulkner campaign; if you want more specific information please send me a FREEP mail.

I know how you feel...

I start back into the industry that abandoned me and many others for over a year and a half tomorrow...

Maybe we should put our mouths where our money isn’t, this time???;-)

Or something like that...hehe

He may have a chance. Rangel fans may see a black football player as more attractive than a washed up old crook.
