For liberal groups, "Daily Show" rally on Mall, not just for laughs (This could be series)

For liberal groups, "Daily Show" rally on Mall, not just for laughs

Jon Stewart has tried to paint the "million moderate march" he will hold on the Mall this Saturday as a live-action version of his comedy show, a satirical take on political demonstrations.

But some liberal groups are doing their best to adopt the rally as their own. Democratic clubs from colleges across the country are sending buses to the event, offering a seat in exchange for a few hours of volunteer time. President Obama, who seemed to talk up the rally at an event last month, is expected to appear on Stewart's "The Daily Show" just a few days before.

And when the Huffington Post's Arianna Huffington announced on the show that she would be offering free transportation to thousands of takers from New York City, she tried to cast herself and Stewart as collaborators in the progressive movement. "You work on the message," she told him. "I'll work on the logistics."

It was, of course, inevitable that a politically tinged event on the Mall three days before the midterm elections would turn, well, political. In a year when conservatives have been more enthusiastic, liberals were quick to view the rally as a call to arms - even if it is inspired by a man who has lately been skewering the Obama administration and who bluntly says he feels no allegiance to their political agenda.

I was just thinking, if this thing is actually huge, it’s going to completely backfire on them. Americans will see a sea of people saying “GIMME! GIMME! GIMME!!!” with their Mexican flags and “Bush’s Fault” signs, and think, “Well now I’m DEFINITELY voting these people out, they’re the ones bleeding us dry and they want more!?”

Excellent.

Jon Leibowitz, or whatever the hell his name is these days, fails to understand that today's democrat party is the support network of hostile racists, anarchists, islamic terrorists, abortionists, societal elitists, jack-booted feminists, militant homosexuals, felons, pathological liars, sneaks, tax cheats, miscreants and other uniquely dangerous individuals.

I genuinely hope that all of these assorted losers show up in droves to Leibowitz's rally, and show America what today's democrat party is truly representative of.

Years later people will gather there on that day and speak of how ignorant those Americans were.

Yeah I had a so called moderate Catholic friend send this to me, (which I already knew about), and his excuse was something along the lines of ‘dialogue’..I sent him back an article from American Specatator showing that this was just going to be a big liberal love fest. How does that promote dialgue?

I haven’t really heard a good excuse back!

In their dictionary, dialogue means “Liberals talk, and everyone else has the choice to agree with us or keep silent.”

Folks, it does not matter even if ten million America hating Democrat liberal, left-wing lunatics show up for this already failed clown show. Why? Early and Absentee Ballot voting. American voters of all stripes are voting right now and by next Saturday, the day of the rally, about 40-50% of American voters will have already cast their ballots for the mid-term elections. And.....remember, no matter what the mainstream media says or what polls predict the early voting trend is strongly favoring the Republican/Conservative candidates. I can say with strong background information that the entire tier of southern states, led by Texas and Florida are going heavily Republican based on the early voting number thus far released. There is no Obama magic in the South whatsoever!!! So....Stewart & Colbert will win a bit for themselves, but helping the Democrat/Obama machine it will not do!!! The election will just about have been decided when the first garbage mavens hit the mall next Saturday. All American voters, get out and vote to totally and completely destroy the entire Democrat Party who is working so hard to destroy America!!! Vote before or on November 2, 2010, and send the Democrat Party down the flushing toilet!!!

Really! Funny when 0bama spoke here at Cuyahoga Community College, Param, Ohio (democrat stronghold) they had to recruit students minutes before his speech to fill ticketed seats. The boots on the grounds that day said the organizers had to really struggle to find students who wanted to participate. Ticketed seats, tickets given out or sold, and enough "no shows" they had to recruit unwilling students. Hmmmm....Operation Ticket Master?

The kids may go for the free trip, free seats, and volunteer time credit. I guess that's what irks me the most...volunteer time credit.

I have a better idea, send them to the unemployment office to volunteer a few hours there. Send them to the nearest food pantry to help hand out food. Have them assist at the food distribution points for Angel Food Ministries. They will learn more about America and the people in it, than any stupid Union,TV show sponsored rally.

Ah...but I rant at a propaganda event.

Better than thousands of them go to DC for this nonsense than to be home in their districts helping out Democrat candidates.

That's the difference between you and a liberal, though; for most of them, such actions are meaningless unless someone is there to see them, to witness their actions, and reflect glory back on them for doing nothing more than living up to their espoused beliefs.

If they did as you suggest, they'd be actually helping someone, but there wouldn't be camera-ready shots of a mass of people, which translates into a comeback to Beck's gathering. THAT is what they REALLY want--to stick a finger in the eye of their REAL enemy, those awful, awful Christian Americans. (I say this as an atheist.)

When I worked in a homeless shelter a few years back, I hung out with the Christians. We enjoyed ourselves and related to the clients, and none of the Christian volunteers made a big deal out of what they were doing -- they just showed up, did their thing with a smile, and that was it. Meanwhile the atheists who worked with me fulltime were cranky, bitchy and mean, as well as disloyal--but they made sure to let everyone know how much they were "suffering" for the good work they were doing.

For many (not all) liberals, good works are labot; giving the finger to some source of "authority" or the status quo, a childish rebellion that delivers an emotional rush (with no practical value to anyone suffering from the ills the libs supposedly despise)--that's the REAL goal.

I found out yesterday that nieces, nephews, kids from the neighborhood and down at the local college campus are all going. Called my mother-in-law, she was so upset to hear they've got our kids (not mine thank God!), I think I ruined her day. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like a case of hardly anyone shows up. It's funny because while the kids are doing that, we're all headed up to see Beck/O’Reilly show.
