If that happens the Feds should disenfranchise every jurisdiction that does this.

The “fix” is not to let him vote.

He's been here for 13 years and he's not a citizen?

I think we all know what the “fix” should be.

"on a recent day in a small lunchroom at the Al-Amin Halal Market, a group of Somali men ate lunch and talked in their native language.
Abdirizak Daud, 40, moved to Minneapolis 18 years ago before coming to Portland in 2006.
He hasn’t been able to find a job. Some of his nine children have attended Portland schools,
"I like the Democrats. I want to vote for Democrats, but I don’t have citizenship," he said.

Anyone surprised?

The Constitution requires that the Federal government MUST ensure that every State has a republican form of government. One of the requirement of a republican form of government is that ONLY citizens may vote. Citizens have civic responsibilities that non-citizens do not. They have requirements of loyalty that non-citizens do not. They can be compelled to public service (based on the results of votes) that non-citizens cannot. It is an outrageous violation of the rights of citizens to allow non-citizens to vote.

"Portland residents will vote Nov. 2 on a proposal to give legal residents who are not U.S. citizens the right to vote in local elections, joining places like San Francisco and Chicago that have already loosened the rules or are considering it."

HUH?!

Sounds more like expired visa problems than a voting issue. When will we ever learn.

Claude Rwaganje pays taxes on his income and taxes on his cars...and isn’t allowed to vote on those taxes

Same thing can be said for any sixteen year-old with a job.

If non-citizens are allowed to vote, then we no longer have a legally constituted government, and the people who took that government away from We The People should be hunted down like dogs.

These people are beyond idiotic. It will be interesting if they get kicked out by those non-citizens they let vote. H’mmm, I can just see Hamas sending thousands of people to Portland, they register to vote and establish the town as a Moslem only, Sharia enfoced city that turns the idiots who proposed the law into dhimmitude.

The first step on the road to erode the concept of citizenship[ to a nation state or community. Next step will be the abolition of the concept of nation. the utopian internationalists are on the march

Maine: Getting fruitier by the day.

Last year they wanted unisex bathrooms in schools. Think about a father visiting a school and having to share a bathroom with little girls.

Plus, their Senators.... I think that says enough

Anyone allowing non-citizens to vote, or citizens CHEATING at voting, should be tried and hung for TREASON.
They are trying to upset the government and open it up for takeover, so they are turncoats and should be treated as such.

They are just trying to destroy CIVIL society. They should be called out for trying to subvert our laws and make them meaningless.

Once the communists get Americans to fall for this crap, it is all over for the America. The communists will be able to send ballots to other communists all over the world. All they will have to do is put a Maine address on the ballot. This is s big mistake. A HUGE mistake!

"My father has lived here for 53 years and is not a citizen. What do you think we should do with him?"

Has he VOTED? WHY would you allow that to happen, and for WHAT reason? He's a foreign "visitor" for 53 years, and didn't think it a good idea to become a Citizen of the Country that he chose to live in, and partake of the BENEFIT of residing in, living in, working in, and using public facilities that were PAID FOR AND DIED-FOR by Citizens?

You need to think about YOUR role, here, too.
