Yesterday NPR fired me for telling the truth. The truth is that I worry when I am getting on an airplane and see people dressed in garb that identifies them first and foremost as Muslims.
This is not a bigoted statement. It is a statement of my feelings, my fears after the terrorist attacks of 9/11 by radical Muslims. In a debate with Bill OReilly I revealed my fears to set up the case for not making rash judgments about people of any faith. I pointed out that the Atlanta Olympic bomber -- as well as Timothy McVeigh and the people who protest against gay rights at military funerals -- are Christians but we journalists dont identify them by their religion.
And I made it clear that all Americans have to be careful not to let fears lead to violation of anyones constitutional rights, be it to build a mosque, carry the Koran or drive a New York cab without fear having your throat slashed. Bill and I argued after I said he has to take care in the way he talks about the 9/11 attacks so as not to provoke bigotry.
This was an honest, sensitive debate hosted by OReilly. At the start of the debate Bill invited me, challenged me to tell him where he was wrong for stating the fact that Muslims killed us there, in the 9/11 attacks. He made that initial statement on the ABC program, "The View," which caused some of the co-hosts to walk off the set. They did not return until OReilly apologized for not being clear that he did not mean the country was attacked by all Muslims but by extremist radical Muslims.

Why is NPR goose stepping to CAIR? Who is pulling the NPR puppet strings?
If people would wake up and pay attention to what’s going on, this incident between NPR and Williams is important. Our country is being hijacked.
So true Juan. But funny how you could never quite see that the people who criticize ghetto culture or take extra precaustion when being followed by a black man aren’t bigots either, but rather acting on real world realities.
To speak the truth concerning the reality of problems which are manifested in black american culture is to be called a bigot.
Thank you for your service to this country.
” Okay, everyone on the Right has rushed to the defense of this man, although they disagree with him on many issues. Have any of his Leftie allies come to his defense? Are any of them standing up for him? “
Don’t look to hear from Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson.....they are temporarily indesposed.
It’s worse than just being fired for telling the truth, he was fired for saying what 95% of Americans believe. Just like the beauty pagent contestant who was persecuted because she didnt believe in gay marriage. The beliefs of average Americans is deemed PUNISHABLE by leftists. Common sense is being outlawed by these fascists.
...once Juan gets the “talking points” in the morning he defends them through out the day. This time he slipped and blurted out something all Americans think.........guess if Juan was ever on a plane where some attention seeking muslims got loud and were laughing and carrying on.....would Juan exit the plane?
This is exactly right and why Rush mentioned today that liberals are just radical Muslim types living here in America. No room for any other viewpoints except theirs! It's THEIR WAY or the HIGHWAY!!!
I hope she will have the question, "Was it fair?" put to her.
When did you ever see a Muslim laugh?
Probably not...but Juan, along with Mara and Morton, is one of the few honest liberals left in American journalism. Most of the rest are fascists.
NPR is the Brain Police.
Christians condemn the acts of Timothy McVeigh...
Muslims fired AK47’s into the air and passed out candy to children on 9/11....
I don't think they will pay. Where are the Sharptons, Jacksons and NAACP whores?
Crickets!
Juan Williams is a great American.
Whoopi Pie and her sidekick, Mighty Mouth Behar, are not.
Ditto.
The Megyn Kelley clip leads off with a few defending him. Whoopi, Walters, and a few others I don’t know who they were...
I say this is a good lesson if Juan cares to pursue it. If he has the courage to recognize his free speech is being trampled.
Say anything out of line
get fired
get threatened by CAIR
Juan, you have more to fear than just a few Muslims on a plane. The 9/11 hijackers couldn’t be identified with their religion and today you have discovered another kind of hijacker.
Firing an African American for stating his opinion will bring a snootful of trouble. I smell a huge lawsuit coming Juan’s way.
Just say i Juan, say it ahhhhhhh......
I don’t need no stinkin moooselimbs in my country...yeeeeehawwwww...
I’m so glad he spoke out against them and not cow-tow!
