~The FReeper Canteen Presents~

Road Trip: Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division, Florida

nawc1

The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) of the US Navy is located in Orlando, Florida in the University of Central Florida's Central Florida Research Park. The land and main buildings on which the main NAWCTSD facility is located inside the Research Park is a U.S. Government installation known as Naval Support Activity Orlando.

Within the Naval Air Systems Command, the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) is the Navy's source for a full range of innovative products and services that provide complete training solutions.

nawc2

This includes requirements analysis, design, development and full life cycle support. Of significance is NAWCTSD's ability to provide continuous learning across a wide variety of applications (aviation, surface, undersea, etc.). NAWCTSD integrates the science of learning with performance-based training and measurement of training effectiveness focused on improving the performance of Sailors and Marines.

nawc3

 The Program Directors (PDs) and the International Program Director are responsible for accepting and executing projects assigned to NAWCTSD. The primary point of contact will be the Program Director responsible for the Warfare Area most closely aligned with the customer. Accordingly, all work is assigned to one of the PDs (i.e., Aviation, Surface, Undersea, and Cross Warfare).

nawc6

The Mission at NAWCTDS is "to be the principal Navy center for research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition and product support of training systems, to provide Interservice coordination and training systems support for the Army and Air Force, and to perform such other functions and tasks as directed by higher authority".

nawc7

The Cross Warfare Support Branch (PDX) manages training programs, systems, services, and products related to individual training, joint services, cross and multiple warfare areas, non-DOD systems and applications, and Business Unit Council (BUC) directed areas of interest.

nawc8

Typical projects in this directorate are those supporting the Naval Education and Training claimancy, special operations, Joint Forces Command, the Modeling and Simulation community and organizations external to the Department of Defense such as Department of Homeland Security. The directorate is also often the incubator for emerging technologies or non-traditional training methodologies such as gaming and entertainment industry techniques.

REST IN PEACE, FALLEN BROTHER!

Pfc. Tramaine J. Billingsley, USA, 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, KIA Afghanistan 14OCT2010

I have fought a good fight,
I have finished my course,
I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)

God Of Our Fathers

Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in peace!
We who remain hold you in high honor.
Rest, fallen brother, in this sacred precinct;
We who remain keep this place sacred.
Rest, fallen brother, among these, your comrades;
We who remain keep the watch.
Rest, fallen brother, among these who answered the Nation’s call;
We who remain press the fight forward in your name.
Rest, fallen brother, lay down thy burden;
We who remain have taken up the torch.
Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in eternal peace!
