PRINCETON, NJ -- Unemployment, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment, is at 10.0% in mid-October -- essentially the same as the 10.1% at the end of September but up sharply from 9.4% in mid-September and 9.3% at the end of August.
This mid-month measurement confirms the late September surge in joblessness that should be reflected in the government's Nov. 5 unemployment report.

Certain groups continue to fare worse than the national average.
For example, 14.2% of Americans aged 18 to 29 and 13.8% of those with no college education were unemployed in mid-October.

"We dont see 10% at the BLS, why not?....." They have their orders from the Democrat Party.
Don't you know there's an election coming? Everyone is suppose to 'pitch in' and help.

10% my ass. Here in the Central Valley in California, thanks to environmentalists saving some trash fish, the water supply has been cut by around 80%. Between Arnold, Nazi Pelosi and lots of little fish politicians, there is no water to grow crops. Needless to say unemployment in some of the farming communities is more like 50% and higher in some towns.
Thank you environmentalists for causing this. Now we can import our food from countries like Mexico that use chemicals long since banned in the states and sewage water to water those crops.
Just like MSNBC’s theme, just bend over, it won't hurt much but in our, it hurts like hell.

Strange chart that admits we were told that WITH the recovery plan the unemployment rate wouldn’t exceed 8%.
With the “plan” we now have unemployment at 10% and it’s been higher, and in some parts of the nation, it’s been much higher.
And we were told that WITHOUT the plan it would have only gone up to 9%.
The evidence says we should have rejected the plan. Since it was projecting the known trajectory of unemployment at the time, and since no outrageous spending would have occurred, it is likely that the 9% number would have been correct.
The unknown was how bad massive spending would make things: now we know.
The cure was worse than the disease.

The official government numbers DO NOT enter double digits!
By executive order.

If unemployment was 20% in 2009,do you think Obama/Pelosi&Reid would of still spent a year pushing for health care?
To: Anti-Bubba182
The last BLS Number only measured unemployment through Mid September. Gallup said that in the last half of September and the first half of October unemployment increased. The next BLS number will pick up those two periods but wont have the last half of October. My guess when the next BLS Number comes out on November 5th (3 days after the elction) it will rise from 9.7% to proably 9.9% and maybe 10%.

fraud, lying, distortion, etc. Obama's minions have been hard at work covering up the not working. Plus, look at all the tons of new federal jobs.
Democrats are desperate to keep the numbers below 10%, but their policies guarantee much higher numbers to come.

Um...no. We’re totally liquid, totally in the black. We’re doing so well we’re getting a big dump into our 401Ks this December. :) )I know. I’d rather have it in gold or silver, LOL!
We’re just being smart and running lean to weather this. The company is well diversified with many irons in the fire and many income streams (we own nearly a dozen mail-order seed & plant companies all run from the same location) as well as my store being the TOP performing store of the five. They’ll cut the other stores before they touch this Goose & Golden Egg.

I always wondered, why not build water towers and water purification/desalinization plants and harvest ocean water? Then we will have an abundance of water, all we need?

The process for desalinating water is extremely expensive for one thing. And building water towers and harvesting ocean water won't stop the environmentalists from bitching and moaning about saving the whales or whatever cause they are involved in at that moment. I don't think it rains enough for using water towers. It's going to start raining here soon and it stops in April. From April/May to the end of October, no rain.
