It is either one of two things:
Someone who burned 1 building on purpose and used the other three as cover or someone burned the church and used the others as cover for that crime.
Disgusting either way.
Before the jokes come in, this is actual Amish country.
Vacant building not bringing in income could indicate owner torching the building for insurance. Yes, the other three would be cover.
Considering one fire was only a church, my guess would be that the church in the other fire was the target with the other vacant buildings acting as cover.
such a delightful part of our state. Hate to read of this.
We live one block from the Garver Brothers flea market. It was quite an experience watching that wonderful old building go up in flames. We spent many Sundays roaming around in there looking for (and buying) treasures. We have a 13-year-old dog that we bought from a dealer at the flea market. It just felt so personal to watch it burn. Not everything is Frontpage material.

This news story was picked up by AP and went nationwide. The Strasburg building is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
“The Garver Family Operated ‘The World’s Largest Country Store’ from 1866 to 1970. The Building gained new life in October 1979 as The Garver Store Flea Market.”
This building had a small museum of historical items and a Civil War era wagon that used to be used to deliver groceries. There will be people all over the country who are familiar with Ohio that know of this place.
Not necessarily. There was a report here that each of the fires was across the street or adjacent to a fire station. Maybe somebody thinks this is “funny,” or is taunting the firefighters or the fire departments. I think there is more to the story and I’m sure there is a profile on this arsonist.
Meanwhile, my heart broke to hear about the flea market building. I love going to this part of Ohio - here and elsewhere - and it just sickens me.
In a last-ditch effort to save democRAT governor Ted Strickland, Obama calls in his ATF troops to sway public opinion. No doubt, it will be national news in a day or two.
