DCCC looks to rescue Rep. Grijalva (Go Ruth McClung)
The Hill ^ | October 16, 2010 | Sean J. Miller

National Democrats are coming to the defense of Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.).

Grijalva has recently been putting up some weak poll numbers in a heavily Democratic district and is under fire from conservative groups over his call for a boycott of Arizona.

To help save the party from an embarrassing defeat, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee went up on the air with a TV ad targeting Grijalva's opponent, Republican Ruth McClung.

The ad hits McClung for supporting a "new national sales tax" and "tax breaks for corporation shipping jobs overseas."

It started airing on Saturday. The DCCC had previously only had reserved TV airtime in the district starting on Oct. 26, according to a Republican strategist who tracks Democratic ad buys.

Earlier this week, Americans for Tax Reform (ATR), headed by Grover Norquist, has launched a TV ad hitting Grijalva for calling for a boycott of the state.

Grijalva called for an economic boycott of Arizona after the state legislature passed its controversial law against illegal immigration. He's since backed away from those statements.

Still, two recent polls show Grijalva — who hasn't faced a tough challenge in his eight years in the House — within the margin of error against McClung, a 28-year-old rocket scientist employed by a defense contractor.

Sensing an opportunity, national Republicans including Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin have endorsed McClung. Her campaign fundraising has taken off as a result. McClung recently raised $100,000 online in a single day, the Tucson Citizen reported on Friday.

The DCCC is paying for some really hateful and despicable TV ads here in Arizona. It’s a damn shame that they can’t be sued for this crap.

It's a damned shame that the Rats won't run any truly hateful and despicable ads against McCain, but it's no surprise considering that he's effectively one of them.

Agreed...They must be getting really nervous to dump this kind of money into a race that was supposedly in the bag for them.

Have you seen their anti-Gosar ad? Yikes! He's been nothing but a dentist and all of a sudden, he wants to get elected so he can take away our right to vote. The DCCC is a bunch of sick puppies.

Anne Kirkpatrick is a flaming liberal, Obama/Pelosi rubberstamp.

Go Gosar!!!!!!!

For those not in the know, Raul Grijalva is the Congressman who called for a boycott of Arizona (his home state) for doing something about illegal aliens. His opponent, Ruth McClung, is a rocket scientist- literally.

So the gist of the article is the Dems would rather lose a few more seats than lose this one because it would be too embarrassing? I wonder which Dem candidates they're cutting loose to save this one?

Much of the Election-Fail excitement surrounds radical leftist Raul Grijalva who is trailing political neophyte Ruth McClung by two points (Magellan Strategies poll).

Grijalva's anti-America/anti-Arizona hatred surfaced when he called for a boycott of his own state in response to Arizona's new policies on illegals. Grijalva who is two points behind, has a solid gerrymandered Dem district of latinos. He Chairs the leftist Congressional Progressive Caucus..........way too radical even for a Democrat leaning district.

THE BEST CONGRESSMAN MEXICO EVER HAD

US Rep. Steve King (R-NY) to Laura Ingraham: " I’m wondering if we look at the map of Arizona Congressman Grijalva’s congressional district, if we haven’t already ceded that component of Arizona to Mexico, judging by the voice that comes out of Grijalva. Grijalva’s advocating for Mexico rather than the United States and against the rule of law, which is one of the central pillars of American exceptionalism. "

=====================================

REFERENCE Grijalva is a Social Democrat (Marxist)---- co-chair of the House Progressive Caucus. He spent practically no money on his reelection, leaning on his Mexican background for votes in this heavily and poorly educated Chicano district. Grijalva put together a Congressional panel against SB 1070---ending birthright citiznship.

=========================================

Reconquistas like Grijalva, squatting in OUR Congress, made a career out of helping illegals drain whatever they could out of America-----to extort taxpayers so that we finance Reconquista. Third World reconquista types are chomping at the bit....to incite revolution....eager to begin the takeover.

It is amazing that a district that is largely made up of absolute morons has to be rescued by the national party. It speaks volumes.

For some reason (Amnesty?), the DCCC is dumping a lot of money into Arizona’s congressional races. We are being bombarded with their mud. I believe SB1070 is the reason they are doing this. They want the ‘RATS in Arizona to hold on to their seats. A Republican landslide would prove that Barack the Kenyan and his buddy, Holder, are wrong when it comes to illegal aliens.

That’s what it looks like and it would be darned embarrassing for them. From what I’ve read this was a gerrymandered district for Hispanics.

It's pretty clear that the GOP has driven the football deep into the Dems territory.

It is the descendant of CD-2 which was created for Mo Udall and was later on won and misrepresented by Ed Pastor. This horrible thing mangles uninhabitable areas of Phoenix and Tucson and deliberately waters down powerful conservative votes in the Yuma area. It is a monstrosity.

I think the fear is that this loss would scare Dems away from amnesty.

Then if the GOP were to pick this up it would completely destroy the narrative inside the beltway regarding hispanics and how they'll vote regarding immigration issues.
