First lady Michelle Obama appears to have violated
Illinois law -- when she engaged in political discussion at a polling place!
The drama began after Mrs. Obama stopped off at the
Martin Luther King Center on the south side of Chicago to cast an early vote.
After finishing at the machine, Obama went back to the desk and handed in her voting key.
She let voters including electrician Dennis Campbell, 56, take some photos.
"She was telling me how important it was to vote to keep her husband's agenda going," Campbell said.
According to the pool reporter at the scene, the conversation took place IN the voting center not far from the booths.
Illinois state law -- Sec. 17-29 (a) -- states: "No judge of election, pollwatcher, or other person shall, at any primary or election, do any electioneering or soliciting of votes or engage in any political discussion within any polling place, within 100 feet of any polling place."
A top Ilinois State Board of Elections official tells the DRUDGE REPORT how Mrs. Obama may have simply been ignorant of the law and thus violated it unintentionally.
"You kind of have to drop the standard for the first lady, right?" the official explained late Thursday. "I mean, she's prety well liked and probably doesn't know what she's doing."
WHITE HOUSE DEFENDS ELECTIONEERING
When questioned about the brazen nature of Mrs. Obama's campaigning, press secretary Robert Gibbs defended the action.
"I don't think it would be much to imagine, the First Lady might support her husband's agenda," Gibbs smiled.

This was an illegal action on her part.
I disagree. It is a very symbolic example that is easy to understand. It is yet one more example of how laws are to keep republicans and other little people under control.
Don't expect enforcement against the "elites". They are better than the rest of us proletariat. (Does this really need a sarcasm tag?)

Now she sullies the name of her office with outright criminal behavior.
Shows the Obamas total disregard for the law and that they are “above the law.” Just wait it will get uglier than this...
I’m pretty sure it’s not one of those back supports the workers wear at the warehouse club stores, LOL.

It is funny that she’s a brilliant, accomplished lawyer until she breaks the law, then she probably didn’t know about it.

Some are saying they sent her out since she has a more favorable rating than BO.....’Let’ her out would better say it.
You are likely right though, who is there to keep her back at this point.
As for Spain trip....likely marriage already to intense between them...while she was gone they got the ducks in a row for her to emerge...thus taking some of the strain off the marriage. Michelle has cabin fever. I agree she is likely tough to be around in the whitehouse...staff is already spilling the beans about that.

I can see that. She seems to be more visible, recently.
I just recalled, however, that not long before Michelle's Spain trip, she spoke before the NAACP and created a huge PR flap.
If you ask me, neither Barry or Michelle have good political instincts. They step on their tongues every time they speak to the American people. They can speak to their radical left-wing minions just fine, but talking to mainstream Americans is like talking to aliens to these people.
I think that holds true for all hard-core libs.

I have to admit I knew things would be very bad for this nation under Obama..but I was not at all prepared for his stupidity in dealing on the international stage...nor that he would so quickly turn on the citizens of this great country...let alone the extreme disrespect they have shown our allies...while kissing butt with our enemies. This is the most treasonous pair I have ever seen in politics and I cannot hardly wait till they are forgotten History.
I see Condi is going to meet with Bo....I have admired her so much... but what is she doing! That I don't get! Makes my stomach roll ...Condi just dropped from my admiration society until I hear why she's doing this. I think BO wants it to appear he's favorable to her and use her to get his numbers up again.
You know when our guys get in place it is not going to be an easy thing to turn this ship around again....Bo has done so much damage already and still has two years left to sink us further....If the Rep.s win the landslide as we think then Bo and the Democrates will blame them for all this fallout from BO.
My personal observation is that Obama is so out of the loop of mainstream America, that he honestly doesn't understand our culture, or traditions in any shape or form.
Note that he presented the Queen of England with an iPod as a gift (containing his speeches, no less!). That registered as a monumental faux pas with most Americans, but I'm sure it never even occurred to Obama what an embarrassing and inappropriate act that was.
People call him an alien, and that's what he is. He's never been an American, even though he's mastered the art of sounding like one when it suits him.
He comes from a place that is utterly alien to you and I. A place so radically different from our America, that it might as well be a foreign country.
This is why everything that comes out of his mouth rubs us the wrong way. This is why his foreign relations are so bizarrely ass-backwards. This is why he demonizes mainstream America the way he does. We're completely alien to him.
