White House Insiders Feel Shellshocked, And Already Think It's Over For Obama

The talk of the town for the next few days will be this big piece by Peter Baker in the NYT on President Obama. The piece paints a picture of a despondent administration:

Yet even if the White House saw it coming, this is an administration that feels shellshocked. Many officials worry, they say, that the best days of the Obama presidency are behind them. They talk about whether it is time to move on. While not in the 30s, Obama’s approval rating in surveys conducted by The New York Times and CBS News had fallen to 45 percent last month from 62 percent when he took office — just a point above where Clinton was before losing Congress in 1994 and three points above where Reagan was before the Republicans lost a couple dozen House seats in 1982.

Joel Benenson, Obama’s pollster, pointed out that even at 45 percent, the president’s popularity eclipses that of Congress, the news media, the banks and other forces in American life. “We are in a time when the American public is highly suspect of any institution,” he said, “and President Obama still stands above that.” Obama’s team takes pride that he has fulfilled three of the five major promises he laid out as pillars of his “new foundation” in an April 2009 speech at Georgetown University — health care, education reform and financial reregulation. And they point to decisions to end the combat mission in Iraq while escalating the war in Afghanistan. “History will judge Obama that the first two years were very productive,” Rouse says.

Obama is possibly the first Presidentr to have done nothing whatsoever of a positive or life affirming nature in his first couple of years.

Zero has accomplished lots of things.

It's just too hard to explain it all.

Just ask Joey BiteMe, he'll tell ya!

“He is going out of the country right after the election”...

Looking for another country to ruin, no doubt!

It ain't over until Michelle sings.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

“But I like taupe.”

How many (straight) men say that?

Funny...I was wondering the same thing when I read it. 1) What kind of man even KNOWS what taupe is?...and 2) If they do...its only because they here it from their wives and why would they dare repeat it...letting OTHER men know that they know? Real men do not know how to use the word "taupe" in a sentence.

Something isn't right with that man...but maybe he meant "tape" and the guy mispelled it...what do I know?

This is pure puff piece for “failure.” Nothing but excuses. This is what the Left is about.

We need to continue to press on against him until he is out of office.

Wishful thinking.

With our luck, we’ll get a new (more) Conservative Congress and they’ll clean things up a bit.

Then the MSM will give credit to Obama and get him re-elected.

Obama is lowlife trash. Yes, we have trash inside the WH.

He has ruined the lives of so many people.

Wow. The spin from that one is enough to blow James Traficant's rug right off.

Yesterday, I had a young lady in my car who was ranting negative over Obama!!! I thought I disliked Obama and his miserable un-American wife, Michelle to the nines, which I do, but this young gal made me look like a new born baby!!! For goodness sakes the woman barely took a breath in her tirade against the Obama clan and the Democrat party. I could not get a word in edgewise and....that my friends is a most rare occurrence!!! And....she was a Democrat!!! And....she cursed better then a NYC cab driver!!! Communist, Socialist, Black Racist, Traitor, Dictator, America Hater, Economy Destroyer, etc., etc., the woman went on and on!!! So....let’s make her happy and destroy the entire Democrat Party on Election Day, November 2, 2010!!! Broom Obama and his wife into the total obscurity they both deserve so well!! Elect enough Conservative/Republicans and we can impeach this failed America hating President!!!

"History will judge Obama that the first two years were very productive,"

"Destructive" is the adjective I would have used.

Rahm Emanuel cautioned against going full bore on health care, advising to go piecemeal, but he was totally ignored by Obama and Congress. If Obama had listened to Emanuel, he would not be in as dire a predicament. But fortunately, he did not listen.

Can’t blame Emanuel for leaving. Most of his advice the past two years has fallen on deaf ears. Someday he will write a memoir titled, “I Told You So”.
