Get this race in such a posture that Giannoulias has a safe lead and I will gladly vote for Labno as the pro-life, socially conservative libertarian. I agree that he is the best candidate but self-satisfaction has to take a back seat to the basic business of defeating Kirk. Until it is clear that Kirk is beaten, Job 1 is defeating Kirk who is worse than a mere RINO.

Whoever wins this seat takes Senate office immediately after election results are certified, not in January of 2011, so this election can really affect the lame duck session. As big a RINO as Kirk is, he is head and shoulders ahead of corrupt "mob financier" Giannoulias:

Normally I agree with you on third party voting, but here in Illinois we have to fight the party chiefs as much as we have to fight the Dems. They handed us a 100% NARAL rating, D NRA grade, ACU rating in the forties (lower than Dick Durbin’s!) cap-and-trade loving fascist as the candidate and told us to shut up about it.
