In ordinary times, such an event might destroy a man's career in public service. But 2010 is no ordinary time, and Mr. West may soon be in command again—this time as a tea-party-backed, Republican congressman from South Florida.

I'm a life member of the VFW, but I will never give one cent to the PAC if this is how it wastes its money. There is more to a candidate than his or her stance on veteran's issues. How about America's issues? I'm proud to have served my country and I don't expect anything in return other than elected officials upholding the Constitution that I put my life on the line for.
I remember reading about that incident in `03. I didn`t realize West was that guy. I like him even more now!!
In movies people are allowed to be heros. We watch entire cities shot up by the action hero. In real life America circa 2003, it gets you an honorable discharge from the Army when you get the information needed to save your troops from an ambush without injuring the prisoner.

How funny is it to see this guy make so much noise in politics as a Republican candidate?
Those are indeed part of the ROI.
The problem is our enemy doesn’t have any rules. And the sooner we get someone like Lt. Col. Allen West into office the better. Some would say he was out of line, took unneeded extreme measures etc. I ask...how do you, yes YOU, really know that? He took those extreme measures, got the information we needed, saved lives, and then turned himself in. What he understood was his enemy.
These are not ordinary times and we do not have an ordinary enemy. If President Bush, Clinton, Bush and even going back through to Reagan and Carter...had defined our enemy properly...we would not be needing to discuss people like Lt. Col. Allen West.
Instead, we got in bed with our enemy. And many of those that turned those sheets down have forgotten to get out of the bed. Instead they attempt to soothe things over with political correctness which obscures the ability to define the enemy. They throw in front of us our own Religious Rights and dare us to defile ourselves in defining our enemy.
So when the Holy War comes here and their warriors behead, maim, cloak our women in darkness, rape, murder, and so on will we have anyone with the courage then...to define the enemy? When a nation holds up a National Religion and a standing army (paid by the government) and a holy army (paid by the church...which is national) how should one define the enemy? When the government sends money and books to the church and the church turns out radicalized holy warriors who will fight and die for the national religion...
Is it not that nations government with which we are at war with? Is it not our enemy that hides behind the mask that is called religion? Are not those holy warriors the foot soldiers of that government(s)?
The progressive left has made us vulnerable.
They have challenged us with our own morals and twisted them into their political correct sins.
They have removed our ability to tap our own resources in favor of their cozy bed of sheets. They are like the beaten wife...who won’t save her own life, but will submit to her husband until her very death(kind of apocalyptic eh?).
Lt. Col. Allen West is the interventionist. He is that good friend trying to her life. All she needs is the courage.
Their endorsement of these pigs is not worth the paper it is printed on.
In truth, in sane times, no one would even take notice my FRiend.

On second thought, I have to agree with your take...
I have no problem with scaring the holy crap out of murdering scum that behead reporters,stone rape victims,and want to destroy the U.S.
If the other fellow hits below the belt,pick up a 2x4 and wallop him until he surrenders without condition.
Even FDR understood that demanding their unconditional surrender AND making it happen,was the best way to permanently deal with the Nazis.
I say: too bad his aim wasn't a bit lower.
