Jake Tapper Asks Axelrod About Obama's Long Form Birth Certificate

During the course of questioning about the Obama administration's attacks on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, ABC News White House Correspondent Jake Tapper brought up the issue of Barack Obama refusing to release his long form Hawaii birth certificate in an interview today with senior White House adviser David Axelrod.

Axelrod said that Obama's birth certificate "has been available to people."

When Tapper followed up by asking if the long form version (aka the original with more information than the shorter publicly released version) has been released, Axelrod ducked the question with this bizarre rejoinder, “the only people who want to keep things secret are folks who have something to hide.”

Before people get too excited, Tapper later Tweeted his disdain for birthers:

However, Tapper had no problem raising the issue with Axelrod:

TAPPER: But what do you say to people who argue you are demonizing an organization for a charge that nobody knows if it's true or not?

AXELROD: Well I’m not demonizing the Chamber of Commerce. I’m simply suggesting to them that they disclose the source of the $75 million that they are spending in campaigns and put to rest, put to rest the questions that have been, that have been raised.

TAPPER: Isn't that like the whackjobs that tell the president he needs to show them his full long-form birth certificate so he can put to rest the questions that have been raised?

AXELROD: The president’s birth certificate has been available to people.

TAPPER: The long form?

AXELROD: Someone once in the course of this debate about whether we should have a law to force these organizations to disclose where they’re money is coming from in the campaigns, someone said, and I think they’re right – “the only people who want to keep things secret are folks who have something to hide.” If the Chamber doesn’t have anything to hide about these contributions, and I take them at their word that they don’t, then why not disclose? Why not let people see where their money is coming from?

Outside of the likes of Les Kinsolving, this appears to be the first time the long form birth certificate issue has been publicly queried at the senior White House level.

There is no way Tapper would have broached that subject a year ago. He had to have been allowed by higher ups to ask that question. There is something much deeper going on with that question.

If you had to write a bio (or prove who Obama was without media sources, feet to ground like reporters of old), how would you do it? How many documents do you have that could be put in an Obama Presidential Museum?

Call all your friends across the press spectrum, ask them what they have or even what they have and haven’t checked on him; Is it documented?

Tapper asked because they always go to the BC issue when he's in trouble. He's running out of folks to demonize.

Is it true that even Sean Hannity mentioned this today? Rush has been dropping hints for months but Hannity wouldn’t touch it - maybe Soros is tired of his puppet behaving badly and has removed his hand of protection. If anyone else in the MSM brings it up, the dam will (hopefully) break! My guess is that they’re waiting until after Nov. 2nd, just in case the Dems pull out a miracle and hold both houses. If not, I suspect that the info will come out fast and furious...

You know something about a federal indictment of Biden? Agnew didn’t just decide all of a sudden that he was tired of the job.

Sure, they may well trump up some reason for Biden to resign honorably, but there are constitutional issues to be considered.

The VP is elected by the citizens of the country, not an appointive office controlled by Barry0. Granted, Biden may have less influence than most of Obama’s minions, but he does NOT serve at the pleasure of the President.

If Biden goes, they’ll have to make it look like it’s his own choice, with a serious and compelling reason behind the resignation. He and Hillary can’t just switch jobs, as some have suggested.

I'm here to tell you right now. Hillary will be VP early next year. The zero will be forced from office 3+ months later. Same story with Agnew, Nixon and Gerald Ford.

If Hillary becomes VP, I would be worried that the historical precedent will be more like how Johnson succeeded Kennedy. Obama just might come down with a bad case of Arkancide.

I honestly do think that Stanley Anne was the type who turned wild in her first semester of college, got herself knocked up by an already-married foreign exchange student, and never saw him again after that night, and especially not after he went home to take three other wives in Kenya. Being a good little liberal, Stanley Anne probably wanted to abort the baby but those were pre-Roe days so she became a single mother, and the long form proves it. But that would be an unwelcome admission for somebody who has built up his ENTIRE political career around the African racial identity of his father.

We know that she did see him again.

Abortions most certainly were available in pre-Roe days - just not legal in the US. Mexico was a popular destination for abortions at the time.

Usually an unmarried pregnant girl was sent away to "visit relatives", the baby put up for adoption, and the girl returned home with no one the wiser - everything was very secret.

Last, but not least was the shotgun wedding.

That's an advantage in being over the hill - you know how things were in the olden days.
