Arianna Huffington’s surprise gift to Jon Stewart -- a convoy of shuttle buses to his “Rally to Restore Sanity” in Washington -- was an even bigger surprise to the folks at the Huffington Post. And the cost of the grand gesture -- an estimated $250,000 for 100 buses for thousands of New Yorkers -- is making some of Huffington Post’s finance executives wince, according to insiders. HuffPo’s President Greg Coleman agreed that the gesture came a surprise, but denied that there was any internal tension as a result.

If the rides are free, why don’t some of us take the free ride to DC ... counter-protest, check out the Smithsonian, grab a bite to eat, go shopping, whatever, and then go back on Arianna’s dime?

Its one of their symbols. Public mass transportation, people relying on the system to get them where they need to be instead of the personal responsibility of climbing in your own car and taking the initiative to do it yourself. They tell you where the buses are and when they leave, remind you to be there and they will take care of everything else, just trust them.

Had there been a person of adquate understanding and ability to articulate opposing views, she might have been exposed, but as it was, she received too much face time.

If the left can get the people on busses, then they can control them...where they go, what signs they carry. They can lecture to them, lie to them.
Didn’t we just go through with this with the unions and the socialists? They’ll probably have just as many at their rally...maybe.
