American actor George Clooney is visiting the little known region of Southern Sudan. The U.N. Security Council arrived to a raucous welcome on Wednesday, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum also made a recent trip here.
The high-level visits are putting the spotlight on the Texas-sized area of Sudan that is far less known to Americans than the western region of Darfur, where mass atrocities have been committed over the last decade.
Southern Sudan is three months from a Jan. 9 independence vote that could see Africa's largest country break in two. The vote _ and the potential of a new north-south war because of it _ are the reason behind the rash of visits.

Another celebrity on the way. I am disgusted. This is a perfect example of Ugly Americanism. Pretentious spoiled Westerners making a nuisance of themselves.

Oh don’t forget about Jane and Susan...perhaps they can live out their fantasy of a better country than America (they sure seem to think that everywhere is better than here).

To make a movie? Does he understand that the real bad guys don’t have to follow a script?

He bores me to death as an actor.

Right hope he stays there.

Let me tell you something.
Whne I was a kid I came across my stpe brother watching a dirty movie. I looked and mentioned the acting was horrible. He told me “they aren’t paid to act.”
You have to look at it that way, only that actors are not paid to think. Then you understand their actions.
