Health care past clings to Mitt Romney
Politico ^ | Carrie Brown

Six months ago, as the Republican base lined up against the Democratic health care overhaul, Mitt Romney stood by his signature achievement as Massachusetts governor, a comprehensive health care law that served as a model for the national program.

That was then. Now, stopping “Obamacare” cold has become an article of faith on the right, and Romney is facing the prospect that his health care plan could be his undoing as a presidential contender.

Conservatives, in turn, are increasingly blunt in their advice to Romney: Say you’re sorry.

“I guarantee that, at the top of everyone’s list on how to differentiate your guy from Mitt Romney, the top of the list is health care — until and unless he takes the opportunity to say, ‘We tried, and it didn’t work. The individual mandate at the heart of Obamacare and Romneycare was wrong,’” said Bill Pascoe, a Republican strategist who wrote a post on his blog earlier this year titled “Say Goodbye to Mitt.”

The idiot had at least a dozen major flip flops last time and he was competitive. I pray to God that the GOP has snapped out of its celebrity candidate RINO malaise.

How in the world does anyone think Mitt has a chance against Obama...when they both support socialized medicine. Mitt cannot even trash ObamaCare....for the DNC will bring up RomneyCare at every turn.

Its over, Mitt. Now go home

As it should! He has made major mistakes and should pay for it appropriately. Part of that is that he is NOT going to be a candidate for President. The sooner he realizes that, the better it will be for the Republican Party.

The downside to that is just who is the Republican Party these days?

IMHO, this makes Romney unsuitable for a candidate.

One of the biggest reasons I despise the Dems is because of the government mandate of Healthcare they forced down our throats. How can we run someone who’s done exactly the same thing? He’s disgraceful.

Mitt Romney can’t admit he’s ever made a mistake. It would be too much like his father’s downfall to him. His father, uberRINO George Romney, flip flopped when he stated he had been brainwashed into believing it was necessary to fight the Vietnam War. “Brainwashed” became his legacy, and he was never a viable candidate for any office after that.

Mittens believes that admitting a mistake caused his father’s downfall. He wants to be president to redeem his father. Such a coincidence that he too has made a huge mistake that will stick with him forever, which ever way he chooses to handle it. If he says Romneycare is a good thing, he’ll be denounced by both sides, and if he flip flops and says it’s bad, he’ll be in the same position his father was.

I doubt Romney will ever admit that he was wrong. He may try to say that the democrats ruined it, but I’m sure they’ll come up with videos of him saying what a wonderful thing he did working with the democrats to produce this thing. So he’s caught between a rock and a hard place. It couldn’t happen to a more deserving RINO.

I would say that Youtube clip of Romney, happy as a clam, insisting that he is quite pro-abortion, thank you, is a millstone of the same weight.

The fact is Romney has never rated much more than an asterisk outside of New England. In 2008 his appeal was that he was not McCain. If he really wants to count in the future, he should take the Giuliani approach, that of campaigner for and endorser of others. Then he might have a shot at some cabinet post in his life.

He won't be a Republican candidate for President.
