Experts: Whitman's ex-housekeeper unlikely to be deported anytime soon

Nicky Diaz Santillan has been outed across the nation as an illegal immigrant who used a fake ID to gain employment with Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman.
**SNIP**
In meetings with reporters this week, Diaz Santillan's attorney, Gloria Allred, was asked about the timing of the housekeeper's decision to go public and whether Diaz Santillan was getting paid.
Allred said Diaz Santillan was not getting paid by anyone, and that the housekeeper had only recently contacted her.
Allred suggested Whitman had engaged in a form of "don't ask, don't tell" with Diaz Santillan until the housekeeper went to Whitman in 2009 and asked her employer, who was already running for governor, if she could help her obtain legal status.

Gloria claims that the admitted illegal alien (who produced false documents) didn't get paid for mileage. Meanwhile, she introduces her client to deportation. Not too good - for a so-called lawyer.

All you need to know is that Whitman found her housekeeper through an agency that produced a signed I-9, a copy of a Social Security card, and a California Drivers license. Whitman paid Diaz Santillan $23 an hour for 15 hours a week of housekeeping. When, in 2009 after Whitman started her run for Govenor, Santillan told Whitman that the documents were forgeries and that she was in the country illegally, Whitman only stopped employing her. Whitman did not call ICE to let them know the situation. Gloria Allred is ALL RED, alright!!

how much does whitman owe nicky diaz ? A couple hundred dollars for what she think whitman owe her for travel expenses? For that, she may ended up jailed or deported. Not very smart advice

well of course not !
It is common knowledge with any and all immigrants , legal and illegal ; when you are involved in any ongoing litigation within the United States you are permitted to remain . If they are a cooperating ‘witness’ in a case , that often leads to full DHS documentation , work permits , social security cards and furthermore , paid travel accommodations for family members to join ‘the plaintiff’ as well as carte blanc to all sorts of social services , like Food Stamps , rent support , free medical , and on & on ....
They simply come up with a claim and a lawyer to get all this . That’s what’s going on here .

What I can't understand is that this could all be cleared up quickly and easily by demanding that the Employment Agency come forth and make public whether or not what Whitman has asserted is in fact, factual.
The mere fact that Whitman used an agency gives her side of the story credence and if a person uses an agency, I imagine it is up to the agency to vet the employees not the person who seeks helpers.
As this Agency is keeping mum, something does not compute here. I think they are scared of getting sued and may have been warned by the skank "All-Red" or being pressured by someone from the Moonbeam Brown campaign.

I’ve heard one report in which the agency said they didn’t know she was illegal. Whitman took an extra step and did the usual verification, despite the agency. Apparently both were duped by fraudulent documents.

"The company that Meg Whitman used to hire her maid Nicky Diaz Santillan back in 2000 claims Nicky deceived them about her immigration status before the company referred her over to Meg.
The owners of Town & Country Resources tell TMZ that when Nicky filled out the standard candidate questionnaire, she "indicated she was legally able to work in the United States" ... even though Nicky knew she was in the country illegally.
T&CR add ... "Further, Nicky provided us and our client with the documents that our client would need to complete the I-9 form as was their legal obligation as an employer.""

Whitman paid Diaz Santillan $23 an hour for 15 hours a week of housekeeping. Where are the people asking the question, "How many Americans would be willing to clean a house for $23 dollars an hour?"

If there was no agreement to pay mileage, then Whitman, who was paying a maid $23 an hour, owes her nothing.
If I were to say to such an employee, “Hey would you run up the hardware store and get some caulk.” that’s just something between people who know each other.

When the Brown/Allred smear campaign unravels - the Rats will just say: “See how this hard working mother of three (US citizens) is being punished?”
Question: The husband must be illegal too - or she would have been allowed special status to live in the US, but perhaps not to work??? (GI brides?)

Here is the lesson: if you hire someone who is questionable, you will be turned on in a heartbeat. Send any questionable employee packing. And send Gloria Allred a thankyou note for saving the heartache Meg is facing.

For 23 bucks an hour her mileage was well paid for. That is big money around here, way over what unskilled labor makes.

One can't help but wonder if this ungrateful *itch was trying to get some money out of Whitman
It's pretty clear Whitman is off the hook legally, doing the middleman thing and all. Ethically, she isn't. She should be hiring US citizens who need jobs. Seems to me, by going to that agency, she was making damn sure she didn't have to break the law while avoiding offering work to a US citizen.
