30 Year Life Member of the NRA, Canceled my membership tonight. The short sighted support of Dems that vote pro second amendment, while helping keep in power the political party that wants to destroy the American way of life, was just too much for me. I feel like this is our last chance to save our country, and the NRA is playing back room games. I could understand the NRA supporting a pro gun Dem if the Republican is Anti-Gun. But they are supporting Dems over Republicans when the republican is a strong 2nd amendment supporter
Im done, canceled my membership tonight after finding out that while they backed down from endorsing Reid, they still wrote him a check. Their checks will never include any money from me or my family. They lost 3 other memberships in my wife, Daughter and son.

Good on you!
Might I suggest the Gun Owners of America as a worthwhile replacement?

Great! I hope you let them know the reason.

Over twenty year member here, and still am debating whether I will remain a member, or not.
The NRA IS peeing us off too.

I did the same thing. Chris Cox is the one to blame. He is the one pushing this policy. The NRA is going to pay a terrible price for making deals with Satan.
To: Robbin
I agree with you. It is an incestuous bunch. I wish some of these passed over strong 2nd amendment Pubbies would call the NRA on their incumbent loving.

Me and my spouse as well.
In my state, they endorsed both Democrat candidates.
We ousted one ...hopefully the two Republicans will win.

A vote for any Dem is a vote for a Dem leadership that wants to ban guns. Normal voters may not get that but the NRA certainly should be smart enough to get it. Over the long term, this is like the Capitalist who sells the rope to hang him.

Sadly, I agree with you. I'm year-to-year, not Life, but I let mine lapse this summer for the same reason -- they're not doing what I think they ought to be doing, and so why should they be doing it with my money?
In my case, they may get me back if they straighten up and fly right, but it'll take a while to overcome my skepticism, and it may never happen.

Yes, if both candidates are pro 2nd Amendment, then it’s a no brainer to support the Republican. There are other important issues as well and the Democrats are on the wrong side of EVERY issue.

There appear to be those within the NRA who have realized that without an ongoing effort on the part of Congress to debase our unalienable gun rights, there would be no need for their jobs as our supposed “defenders.”

Probably for the best. Embittered cranks who can't understand that the NRA must be overtly bipartisan to remain effective should all theatrically resign. Looking forward to your next thread celebrating the ideological purity of JPFO or GOA, Byron

My NRA membership just lapsed and I have no intention of renewing until they change this endorsement policy. I also just ordered some supplies today from Midway and for the first time ever I didn’t give to the NRA Roundup.
Nothing from this point forward until things change.

I sense the ghost of christmas future will be paying Mr. Cox a visit sometime after Nov. 2nd. The ghost will be in that of Charlton Heston.

Same here. The NRA needs to jettison that non-partisan BS and man up. You don't endorse a stopped clock when it's only right twice a day.
"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

Congrats my fellow ex-NRA brother. Now come join the Gun Owners of America and truly join an organization that not only follows the 2nd Amendment but also adheres to America and conservative principles....unlike those pukes at the NRA.
