The Obama administration is developing plans that would require all Internet-based communication services -- such as encrypted BlackBerry e-mail, Facebook, and Skype -- to be capable of complying with federal wiretap orders, according to a report published Monday.

Well i understand wanting to monitor terrorist communications, and i DO realize that facebook is the way many many people communicate. I just have one innocent question; Islamic Terrorists,,Isn’t Obama on their Faceook “friend” list already?
I closed my FB account. It was already getting too weird.
Another interesting development is All the stores issuing cards that give you discounts. They all have them:CVS, Office Depot, etc. They swipe your card every time you make a purchase and allegedly give you discounts, BUT they also make a record of everything YOU BUY!
Perhaps conservatives, who were at sleep at the switch on these privacy issues when Dubya reigned, are finally rousing themselves.

Hopefully, November elections will establish that this never becomes a reality. I can’t wait for November.
This mirrors the big battle that was going on between Blackberry and the Government of India. Indian security forces were concerned about Islamoterrorists using Blackberry to communicate, and the data being out of subpoena reach on servers in Canuckistan.
