Here they go again. Cheney and Bush just want to listen in on our private conversations....
oh, what? What’s that? This is the Obama administration. Oh, well, I am sure we’ll similar outrage throughout the media on this issue.
Remember that the Patriot Act was 98% identical to the proposal of Janet Reno. When a Democrat propsoes it most Democrats support it. When a Republican proposes it most Republicans support it.
Everyone tends to think that only the other side will abuse the power. Maybe the FBI sweep during Obma’s watch of self-described anti-war protestors will wake some on the left up to the reality that a powerful centralized government is intrinsically a danger to our freedoms and it is not a partisan issue.
(Whether I know all the details of the FBI sweep is irrelevant. What is relevant is the reaction of the activists.)
