HENDERSON -- Drugs, guns, prostitutes and fraudulent Social Security and immigration green cards are believed to have been sold and traded by a Rusk County family with connections to a violent Mexican Cartel. A sizeable force of federal and state law enforcement raided a Rusk County family compound Wednesday morning after two years of investigations by multiple agencies into the Hernandez family's alleged illegal activities.
Dallas Region FBI Spokesperson Mark White said there was a sizeable number of agents and other officers involved in the "no knock" warrant due to the multiple buildings and multiple families on the tract of land near Henderson...
According to a 25-page federal arrest affidavit filed by FBI officials, Victor Hernandez-Hernandez Jr., and his family at 11659 County Road 4186 were the target of the raid...
The affidavit lists confidential informants who have bought weapons and drugs while wearing video and audio surveillance equipment and who have testified as to seeing drugs and guns sold and drugs buried on the property....
The informants bought methamphetamines, AK 47 assault rifles, alcohol and other witnesses told federal and state officials they had seen the Hernandez family sell cocaine, marijuana and a variety of guns. One witness told authorities two of the Hernandez brothers would leave Rusk County with a large amount of guns and come back with illegal narcotics after crossing over into Mexico...
FBI officials also stated in the affidavit they were told one of the Hernandez brothers was selling fraudulent Social Security and U.S. Immigration cards for $200 each....
FBI officials have also learned the family has ties with the Los Caraetes de Lenares, a Mexican band, that has been accused of being connected to the Beltran-Leyva Mexican Drug Cartel.
Further officials have learned throughout the investigation that Drug Enforcement Administration agents believe the family is also moving approximately 80 kilos of cocaine through East Texas every 18 days and that the family's methamphetamine was described as "Fire" meaning it was of very high purity...

No mention of whether the guns were legal or illegal, I’m presuming. Nowdays, the presence of any gun in connection with any law enforcement operation (not connected with LE)is automatically presumed to be illegal....

Rusk County, Texas. My ancestors also had a ‘compound’ in Rusk County in the 1800’s. They had the blessing and permission of Mexico because NO Mexican wanted anything to do with that untamed country. After they built successful schools, plantations, the Mexicans showed up to loot and steal or destroy anything they could.

It is legal in Texas to have your own firearms including AK47s on your own property - there is no registration.
However it sure sounds like a cartel operation - there are thousands of cartel operations in Texas.
The only difference between this gang bust and the ones in Mexico is that the Mexican army just executes the gang members in their compounds, while USA agents usually do not.
The civil war is here and these are the players - it is more like a degeneration into bands of warlords active in drugs and gun running, versus the feds every once in a while, and everyone else tries to stay out of the way and self preserve. This same war is violent enough here, but more shooting bombing and bloody 300 miles away just across the border, same warlords. Coming soon to a family compound near you.

Truer words could have been mentioned. I grew up along the TX border and know first hand what goes on. Like clockwork the Federales (sic) make their rounds. Every 6 months where I lived. A smart person knew to stay away. As a teenager we where headstrong and not so smart. I had a friend get shot in the shoulder when he did not have enough money to buy his way out of his situation (which was just being there). Then he got ‘cocky’ and lost.
If you do not know your ‘clan’ by now, your are probably in real trouble next year.

He had not been charged with a crime by late Thursday.
Since the raid was at 5am Wednesday, is that unusual?
He will remain in custody until a Grand Jury meets, possibly next week?
I’ve been scouring the news sights to see if he was charged yet. So far, nada.
It’s amazing how much our government hates its own citizens.
