Republican businessman Rick Scott has moved to a six-point edge over Democrat Alex Sink and has hit the 50% support mark for the first time in Florida’s gubernatorial race.

The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Scott with 50% of the vote, while Sink, the state's chief financial officer, earns 44% support when leaners are included. Six percent (6%) of voters prefer some other candidate in the race.

Winning this race will help tremendously with redistricting. This result is 180 degrees from yesterday's Mason-Dixon poll so I guess the result is somewhere between the two.

Since Scott is an R it’s ‘Slightly ahead’ if he was the Demorat it would read ‘clobbering’ or ‘major lead’ or ‘landslide’

This is good news with most of the moralists RINOs here in Fl threatening to not vote.

Sink began her campaign with a blitz of Scott saying negative anti (o)bama stuff. I guess Scott did not need to run any ads with her helping him!

Meanwhile, Scotts ads I have seen are just simple, let’s get to work ads. Sink will have a tough time getting away from her pro (o)bama agenda, no matter how far she tries to distance herself especially with Marco Rubio pulling favorably for the R’s too IMO.

Scott has been hammering Sink and painting her into a corner with 0bama with video of her supporting 0bama as being good for Florida.

Be nice if he and Rubio would start doing ads about "Are you better off than you were 4 years ago when Democrats took over Congress and Charlie Crist and Alex Sink took over the state of Florida?"

BOOM! I was really, really hoping this one would swing back our way. The Sink +8 result from the last one just seemed odd, especially with Rubio leading so ferociously in the Senate race. Rubio is a rising tide that floats all boats.

Looks like the Rs are gonna sweep in all the major swing states (FL, PA, OH - even MI).

This will be huge for redistricting and prez 2012 election.

I am praying that he stays ahead of her at the end of election day.

i never thought that we would have to fight the Establishment Republicans along with the Democrats and main stream media. But we do what we have to do. Why? Because we have something personal at stake, our hind ends.

Rasmussen is doing this a lot, he’s just done the same with the Texas Gov with Perry with a “slight lead” at 6% ahead.

Mason Dixon has been wayyyy off this year .
It appears there are doing these push poll based on the local lefty media operation’s criteria who pays for the polls.

Their Reid Angle polls cooked up for the LVR have been huge outliers too.

Was MD sold recently or had a shake up ?

The local ABC lefties may have paid those poll results.
I have noticed many of these local left media outlets are cooking up these PUSH POLL results in which they designed the criteria of the poll.

MD has been cooking up some strange poll results for LVR between Reid and Angle too. The results are wild outliers and naturally pro Reid .

Mason-Dixon has had some odd results this cycle -- but it's a very odd election cycle.

I agree, the best way is to take an average of polls that aren't outright wrong.
