A 17-year-old kid (or "woman", as the press prefers to call it) is lassoed and dragged by a horseman after she and other animal rights activists entered a corral to protest against the rodeo. According to the news article linked here, the Chilean Rodeo Federation's director "regretted what happened, but at the same time justified the attitude of the riders".
News report at El Mercurio, a Spanish-language newspaper in Chile, and here is the YouTube video link. Her name is Constance. From the YouTube description: the incident occurred on September 19, during the "Patriotic Celebration Festival" at the National Stadium. The video shows three young people entering the corral to peacefully protest animal abuse by the rodeo; then we see riders on horseback and rodeo men on foot lassoing one female protester later identified as a 17-year-old child.

PC is NOT a favorite pastime down here.
I can tell from the kind of glasses a person wears that they:
— want the Bush tax cuts to expire
— are more authentically angry at Walmart than at the terrorists
— secretly wish America would just get over 911
— secretly wonder why people are so hung up on the Constitution
— secretly wish gas cost $5 a gallon
— have never heard of Freidrich Hayek
— admire Gorbachev more than Reagan
— only book they’ve read cover to cover is Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Liar by Al Franken
— still disappointed that Iraq wasn’t another Vietnam
— find those Tom Toles cartoons funny
— always take Allende’s side of the argument
— only started liking American cars about two years ago
— wish Obama could be absolute dictator for a month or two
— not bothered by Rangel ethics problems
— have never donated to private charity
— believe in abortion on demand
the sense of entitlememnt takes liberals a long way
Where were you in 1968 and 1969?

'Nuff said.
The article was ‘satire’.
Not real..
But funny none the less..
Is horse and cow tripping part of the Chilean rodeo, as in Mexico?
Humiliation is a good weapon against morons like her.
Sounds like Chile has a 1950’s American culture, which is a good thing.
Well, considering where she sat down, who would touch her?
Maybe she will show up and protest at the next branding .................
I went to a few Chilean rodeos in the 70s when I was working there. Great events! They do indeed take them very seriously.
It would be fun to see this at the Houston Rodeo ping.
***Ladies and gentlemen, if youre PETA protesters, and you climb into a rodeo ring filled with men on horses, carrying lariats...youre just asking for trouble.****
Even worse if they were to jump into the arena when the bulls and horses are loosed.
I remember seeing a clip from Spain of some woman protesting the running of the bulls. One of the bulls didn’t take kindly to her and tossed her on his horns like a rag doll several times before others scared him off.
Call it “Cowtown Speed-dating.”
Rodeo in much of South America is the second most popular sport after soccer. Barrel racing is one of the few things women/girls can compete in as a sport on the same level as men in those macho cultures.
