If we can stop Obama while he is still at Jimmy Carter and before he gets to James Buchanan I'll be happy.

In 1979 the planets aligned and we got Ronald Reagan.
The GOP had better clear the way for a dynamic, pro-constitution pro-freedom candidate ready to go in 2012 and not the usual MikeHuckabee MittRomney JohnMcCain BobDole 'but its his turn' candidate or we'll be in deep pucky.

Wow, I didn’t know Mon-dull was still alive and that a loser of his magnitude would dare to speak in public. Mondales’ record 49 state loss to Reagan should be proof to anyone that this country votes to the right (or at least use to).

Pretty funny article. John Fund tries so hard to sound magisterially moderate.
I particularly liked this line:
"...[a former Democrat greybeard] told the Economist magazine earlier this year that Mr. Obama is "avoiding the worst mistakes that plagued Carter."
Yuh, like not doing a Playboy interview and using the phrase "lusted in my heart" while holding the most powerful office in the world.
Give him time, though, give him time.

No freakin way...I mean, nooooo freakin way.
Carter’s gotta accent and has big teeth and short straight hair.
They don’t at all resemble one another.

Although Jimmy Carter was an inept liberal and Barack Obama is a communist, the basic comparison is that Carter was weak and effectual and so is Obama, despite being hyped by the liberal media, who are losing their influence by the day. Carter’s stupid policies hurt the nation on many fronts, mostly economically, and so has Obama and his lapdog congress. Our national security was threatened by Carter’s timidity about confronting Iran when the radical Islamic ‘militants’ (in reality, the Ayatollahs) seized power from the corrupt Shah and then seized our citizens and held them hostage for 444 days, humiliating America and setting the stage for the huge problem Iran poses to the world, today. Who believes that in a similar situation Obama would do any better? Case closed.

The RATs have to know that their ship is sinking fast. Wouldn’t you love to be a fly on the walls of Congress and in Zero’s office in the White House? I hope the whole lot of them need Imodium and Valium 24/7.

Sheesh...
"Mr. Alternative Energy" Obama won't put solar panels back on the White House because it might remind people of Jimmy Carter?
What kind of an excuse is that?

Geraldine Ferraro was dead right. And the left vilified her for speaking the truth. If 0bambi weren't black, he would still be a state senator in Illinois or a community organizer. He has no credentials and no qualifications. Period. Suddenly the left’s figuring out what the rest of us knew all along. And they're not liking what they see. “There is none so blind as he who will not see.”

Another of Mr. Obama's clear errors has been to turn over the drafting of key legislation to the Democratic Congress: "That doesn't work even when you own Congress," he said. "You have to ride 'em." But, but, that's - too much - like WORK!

Perhaps the biggest difference is that people took a quick dislike to Obama (and Clinton), leaving Congressional Democrats to deal with an angry electorate at the mid-term elections. Public anger over Carter’s incompetence did not become universal until 1979, so the Democrats did OK in 1978. Of course, that meant that Carter had to face the first angry wave in 1980, rather than letting his fellow Democrats take the beating for him, like Clinton did and Obama is about to do.
Perhaps Obama, like Clinton, will learn from the spanking his party is about to get, but I’m not holding my breath.
