Iran leader warns US of war with 'no limits'

UNITED NATIONS (AFP) – Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad warned Tuesday that an attack on his country's nuclear facilities could spark a war with "no limits".

Ahmadinejad also raised new questions about the Holocaust as he raised more controversy on his visit to New York for the annual UN General Assembly meetings.

"The United States has never entered a real war, not in Vietnam, nor in Afghanistan, nor even World War II," the Iranian leader told American editors and reporters when asked about how Iran would react to any US supported strike by Israel on Iran's nuclear facilities.

"War is just not bombing someplace. When it starts it has no limits," the New York Times reported.

"Do you think anyone will attack Iran to begin with?" he said, according to Atlantic magazine's website. "I really don't think so. The Zionist regime is a very small entity on the map, even to the point that it doesn't really factor into our equation."

The UN Security Council has imposed four rounds of sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program. The United States and its allies have called for stringent application of the measures and Washington-Tehran relations have become increasingly fraught.

The western powers accuse Iran of trying to develop a nuclear bomb. Ahmadinejad denies the charge.

The Iranian leader said he was ready for nuclear talks with US President Barack Obama's administration, but said "the whole outlook has to shift," ABC News reported.

The UN sanctions had damaged the chances for an improvement in US-Iranian relations, he added.

Ahmadinejad blamed international politics for the growing tensions over the nuclear program. "Iran?s nuclear case is a political case," the New York Times quoted him .. "Otherwise, why would it be essential for the details of our nuclear program be made available to the media?"

Sounds like a good excuse to just drop the big one on him and be done with it.

We’ve been at war with this clown for years now. Why does our government refuse to acknowledge that Iran has provided the materials and training for the construction of IEDs in both Iraq and Afganistan? Those armor piercing discs that come out of those IEDs are manufcatured in Iran. The Iranian military trains the insurgents in both wars. Why haven’t we fought back against these scumbags? Level Iran. It’s the only answer.

Just what the hell is he going to do? We have nuke equipped ships and subs all over the world! I just wish someone in authority had the gonads to call him out.

If we had a man at the helm he wouldn’t say such things.

Were are you President Bush when we need you?

Iran should hire Bagdhad Bob. At least he was entertaining with his rhetoric.

Sadly, even 911 wasn’t enough to wake up most of this country. The pain wasn’t even felt by most libscum outside of NYC.

Now, if Iran starts a real bombing campaign here or levels a city, we’ll quickly remember as a nation how to fight “total war.”

Iran wouldn’t last a week, and there would be little to rebuild.

Amadmaninadinnerjacket reminds me of the Black Knight in the movie “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”

After Arthur slices off the Black Knight’s legs and arms, the Black Knight refuses to give up and calls Arthur a yellow coward and a loser in the fight

“Were are you President Bush when we need you?”

Iranian made explosive formed IED’s were killing our troops in Iraq, and we knew who was making them, under the past administration. We need to look further back in history to find a leader that would take care of business.

Not my point. Troops getting killed via IDEs in and of itself is a deployable situation, but not one that should require a nuclear conflagration. However, Adminajabass is talking about a worldwide event, an event that would more than justify the use of nuclear weapons.

“Truman?”

Yes, or maybe Reagan, both seemed capable of understanding acts or war.
