Barack Obama's planned assault on the Tea Party smacks of desperation
The Telegraph (UK) ^ | September 20, 2010 | Nile Gardiner

The New York Times has a major piece this morning outlining the White House’s response to last week’s dramatic surge in Republican primaries by Tea Party candidates. After months of mocking and sneering at the Tea Party movement and largely ignoring its rising success, Obama’s advisers are now contemplating a major campaign against it. According to The Times:

Here’s an ad I wish someone with more talent than I would develop for Republican canddiates:
On an axis, spin at increasingly faster speeds, pictures of Obama, Reid and Pelosi - along with those of Hitler and Marx. For each election district, simply insert one additional picture of the Democrat candidate. As the pictures are rotated and when they come to a speed that a blur begins to happen, morph the pictures to only two symbols - a swastika and hammer and sickle. The caption underneath should read “Liberals Idea of a ‘Moderate’ Democrat.

Every Dem candidate would be assoicated with the nasty three and will be a reminder to all voters of how the Dems have taken us down the road away from the limited government guaranteed by the Constitution and toward autocratic rule.

Please, please, please attack the Tea Parties! Please!

For them, that’s the worst thing they can do.

Any truth to the rumor that Newt, Karl and Michael were seen having a dinner meeting with Zer0?

I have a feeling Castle is going to pull a “murkowsky”.

Quite possibly. Perhaps with a little help from the left. With all the rogue organizations that they have out there, I'm sure that democrat money could be funneled to the RINO through back channels.

Intelligence is what gets you through the Ivy League. Sadly, intelligence and wisdom are two entirely different and often separable things. Maybe, if the voters electorally poleaxe the ruling class types, the resulting headache will induce a bit of wisdom into their over-stuffed intellectual heads.

See, an Ivy League education doesn't make you any smarter.

In my personal experience it's quite the opposite.

Tea Party is really capturing people’s imaginations. It’s something ordinary people can DO, a way to not feel helpless. Thanks, Barry, for pointing the way. Tell everybody how dangerous Tea Party is!

I think the elitists are finally starting to get the point of the sleeping giant they awakened.

The astounding thing is there were 1,780,000 of us in DC on 9/12/2009 and the did their level best to ignore us, including many on Fox News. Indeed, several helicopters flew over the massive demonstration and, from all anyone could tell from pictures that were not published, flew off into total oblivion. They should have gotten the idea then. That they didn't, shows they've created a hermetically sealed cocoon for themselves and need to be purged.

I guess since they are complete failures at governing the country, it makes sense to fall back on something they are good at: slime politics

I don’t think a “ruling class” has ever gone down without a fight, and when the fight comes, they won’t play by the Marquess of Queensberry rules.

The calculus must be that if they engage in this type of smear campaign that it will have a bigger impact in stoking their base to come out and vote than it will have in further increasing the motiviation of Tea Party types to vote for Republicans.

An alternative explanation is that they think they can: 1) dampen the motivation of indpendents, who have moved massively to the Republican side, to vote Republican and 2) cause independents to think twice about their recent conversion.

I think (hope) they are mis-reading the electorate - again. I also am hopeful that liberal lies/propaganda generally are less effective than they have been in the past - people are following the issues more closely than in the past and they have the internet to help them.

Don't you think that the events of the last week or so have finally convinced even the most skeptical that the hard core parties are made up of what is now being called the "ruling class"?

Therefore, the members of the two "mainstream" parties really have the same mindset, and ought to belong to the same "party"....therefore, funding one of their own is natural.

The cat is out of the bag...and again, Zer0 has been the force that has allowed the light to be shown on this bag of cockroaches.

If the "ruling class" attacks the Tea Party, they will live to regret the attack, because as "they" say, it will come back to bite them in the ass.

Obama is taking out ads claiming the Republicans have been taken over by the TEA party? Where can I contribute?
