The New York Times has a major piece this morning outlining the White House’s response to last week’s dramatic surge in Republican primaries by Tea Party candidates. After months of mocking and sneering at the Tea Party movement and largely ignoring its rising success, Obama’s advisers are now contemplating a major campaign against it. According to The Times:

Similarly, I notice that the DSCC is up and running ads in Delaware...against O’Donnell!

(Wait...she has no chance...why, then, the ads?)

I don’t think the attack will be done to protect the dems in this election.

Obama’s trying to protect the Republican RINOs, he needs them to get stuff passed.

Losing Castle upset the dems as much as it did the RNC.

This will workout far worse than their campaigns against Fox News and Rush.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

He is the most unpresidential “president” in history.

President Obama’s political advisers, looking for ways to help Democrats and alter the course of the midterm elections in the final weeks, are considering a national advertising campaign that would cast the Republican Party as all but taken over by Tea Party extremists, people involved in the discussion said.

Living rent-free in their heads, the Tea Party gets the benefit of free exposure! Bring it! Turn out the vote!!

Castle would have allowed the left to have a vote in the Senate while simultaneously being able to blame failures on a “Republican Congress”.

I think the elitists are finally starting to get the point of the sleeping giant they awakened.

Elitists of ALL parties are the target.

I think you are on to this.

Both parties are starting to sweat the “people” waking up. I'm going to get lots of popcorn for the next month or so...Desperate politicians, running from their very recent reputation, with little to offer the great unwashed are going to start(?) acting pretty silly. First highlight: Old Harry and the “Dream Act”....his little pity party speech tickled me funny bone! Got to rile up the minorities and those poor beleaguered womens.

What happened to canceling the elections? Wouldn’t that be a more effective way of retaining dem power than trying to run a messy propaganda campaign against the very popular tea party? I thought he was supposed to cancel them, what gives, what am I missing here? /s

Bwahahaha! Look at Huff po...they are in a lather about Ms. Palin. Wonder why, if she is such a dullard? I'm not a huge fan of hers, but I do think she is a hard working, smart cookie. I'm a hard line fiscal conservative and ANY POLITICIAN that addresses the bottom line is going to run away with the election in Nov and 2012. This is getting interesting!

A great percentage of average Dems will bemoan excessive gov. spending just like your basic conservative Republican. But when their ox gets gored, then it’s different. Then we need that massive gov. program that provides them with a few shekels taken from taxpayers.

It smacks of stupidity. The business-bashing, whitey-hating blather that works among the perpetually=freeloading recipients of government assistance will not work among those of us that support them. And like it or not, those that support the dregs of our society are still in the majority.

This is typical of the democrats - they bite the hand that feeds them, even though they risk not being fed.
