Former top Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson is a Washington Post columnist, and there is never a better time for right-leaning columnists to lean left than in the last weeks of an election season. (See George Will trashing Sen. George Allen in the last weeks of 2006.) His rant also may have granted Gerson a seat on CBS's Face the Nation on Sunday.
Gerson not only denounced Christine O'Donnell as a wacky candidate like Alan Keyes, he denounced "the childish political thought of the Tea Party." He insisted conservatives were like Bolsheviks. Bloggers like Michelle Malkin and talk show hosts like Mark Levin were "unhinged" against Karl Rove.
Gerson wants to suggest that the Tea Party people are unhinged in their rhetoric, and then he compares them to murderous Russian communists. Remember this the next time Gerson agrees with a liberal that Obama shouldn't be smeared with foreign associations.

Rover has the good on Coons......He was planning on using it when Castle was the candidate. But will he use it now?
Interesting thoughts.
I differ about Tokyo Rove. He has never had the stones to fight anything—notice how there was no effective counteraction to the Dems trashing George Bush and demonizing him for eight years.
So, I don’t think he is trying to save AMeriva behind the scenes.
Besides, we know that last December here in DE he was trying to blunt the TP groups here to get under the Castle organization. They politely told Tokyo Rove to get lost.
The fix was in, but “the voters stole the election”, as some wit here on FR said recently.
It was a little different for me. It was like hearing my father say something that was a fundamental breach of my personal values. Hearing him say that infuriated me, but he didn't totally lose my allegiance over it.
I think that began a long series of confounding disagreements I had with GWB.
To this day, I'm torn about that man.
Look at the way Murkowski, Crist, and others are absolutely refusing to let go. You are right, something is off here.
You may be right that they will escalate. I think we may soon see a wag the dog incident, or a brazen attack on free speech via radio, internet, cell phones or some combination of these. In Alaska, we may have seen tentative GOP attempts at vote tampering in the tradition of the Democrats. At the end of the day, EVERY tyranny must be backed up with terror and lethal force. Will they blink, or will we?
I completely agree that this season’s electoral upsets were NOT foreseen, and have caused havoc in their agenda.
May God protect and preserve us, and deliver the enemy into our hands.
They are Bush clones. Bush veered right at election time.
Exactly. But they will try to steal the Internet from us.
It's the key to how we organize and communicate.

What could be bigger than stopping the Marxists and their statist allies from destroying our Country?
----------------------------------
If there were ever an enemy of prosperity and opportunity for the middle class, it is the Marxist Barack Hussein Obama.
He is a menace to our nation and damn near everyone living here.
Bowing to foreign leaders, hanging out with terrorists and racists, pushing for amnesty for all illegal aliens in the country, pushing for same sex marriage in spite of the voters' wishes, trying to nationalize health insurance, nationalizing student loans, nationalizing two car companies, setting pay scales in companies not controlled by the government, regulating CO2 emissions, and on and on...
Obama bamboozled millions... gave them the old 'okee doke.' What a moron. He can have as extreme a views as he wants. But he can't transfer them and remake America with them.
Time to end the experiment brought on by the piss-steam media and the Bush derangement crowd.
Is Michael Gersen Gay?
He sure acts like it.
See above post....I think other may have thought Rove was the man for the job....We both know he wasn’t. But is he going to tell people no....His emotional outburst may have been cause he knew he had failed....big time.
Anger is aways a secondary emotion....What was the primary? frustration? He needs to take a vacation and then quietly come back and give COD a call and just chat, tell her his concerns and go after COONS full force to make up for his big error.
My bones agree with yours. You can almost feel the electricity of the gathering storm crackling in the air. There's a good rain coming.
Now there's food for thought right there!
“Battle lines being drawn . . . “
------------------------------------
Liar = Obama.
Cheater = Feds.
Thief = Congress.
Con artist = Piss-Stream Media.
Throw 'em all out.
May God protect and preserve us, and deliver the enemy into our hands.
Amen.
I agree.
I think that's a fair statement about the whole Tea Party movement.
None of this was supposed to happen. We're a threat beyond tolerance to the ruling class, though there's nothing they can do to stop us. Their days are numbered, they know it, and they're now howling in anger about their coming demise.
Next time you see some former Bush aide attack O’Donnell, think “can I find some evidence that this guy was called a neocon 5 years ago?”
If you find lots of evidence of that, that person is probably a neocon, and probably not a Republican politician who sometimes votes with Democrats, or, a RINO.
It’s the neocons who are against O’Donnell, and eventually, every single one of them will say something bad about her, and the media will have no more left.
Here’s one from 2006
http://glenngreenwald.blogspot.com/2006/08/michael-gerson-and-bush.html
There are 20,400 results for “michael gerson” neocon
There are 10,800 results for “michael gerson” RINO
Results 2 and 3 are Freerepublic.
This whole attack Christine is a neocon deally. The neocons either hate Christine for some reason, probably having something to do with The Passion, or something else she said, probably about Israel, or they want people to think they hate Christine.
What does O’Donnell need to succeed?...Is the money she received enough? Does she have the ad creators, people on the ground etc. I know Delaware is small, but is her base large enough to multiply and grow. How many votes will she need to win?
She is in the arena, fighting on behalf of all of us.
We can't let her fight alone.
As a guy, I am amazed that most of my political heros are female. At least they fight.
