A Mail on Sunday investigation – which will alarm anyone concerned about animal cruelty – has revealed that schools, hospitals, pubs and famous sporting venues such as Ascot and Twickenham are controversially serving up meat slaughtered in accordance with strict Islamic law to unwitting members of the public.
All the beef, chicken and lamb sold to fans at Wembley has secretly been prepared in accordance with sharia law, while Cheltenham College, which boasts of its ‘strong Christian ethos’, is one of several top public schools which also serves halal chicken to pupils without informing them.
Even Britain’s biggest hotel and restaurant group Whitbread, which owns the Beefeater and Brewers Fayre chains, among many others, has admitted that more than three-quarters of its poultry is halal.
Animal welfare campaigners have long called for a ban on the traditional Islamic way of preparing meat – which involves killing animals by drawing a knife across their throats, without stunning them first – saying it is cruel and causes unnecessary pain.
Sharia law expressly forbids knocking the animal out with a bolt gun, as is usual in British slaughterhouses. Instead, it must be sentient when its throat is cut, and the blood allowed to drip from the carcass while a religious phrase in praise of Allah is recited.
The extent of halal meat consumption, even in areas of Britain with a very small Muslim population, was revealed as the Pope, on his first visit to Britain, expressed fears that the country was not doing enough to preserve traditional Christian values and customs.

Halal won’t burt you and they do it so they can sell the meat to their vast Muslim population.
It’s not the killing that is important , but the fact that they are doing it to please their Muslim population. Each thing you do to support and stroke Muslims is another step towards their taking over.

It's a little different and a couple of bucks less per pound on beef ~ can't stand sheep meat though, and they don't carry pork.
I’m not so much concerned over the animals, as to having some satanic death cult words said over my food...
As you might expect, that works for me.
OK, this answers one of my questions. It is possible to stun the chickens before cutting their throats, but the spinal column must remain intact to facilitate the complete bleeding out of the body. I think they are saying that they are special because they do practice this more human means of slaughter.
All this talk is making lacto-ovo vegetarianism sound more desirable. ;-)

A Football Association spokesman confirmed: ‘All the beef, chicken and lamb sold at Wembley Stadium is halal which means a large proportion of the meat on offer to our customers falls into this category.’ Pork, which is forbidden to Muslims, is also served at the stadium.
So, if one objects to meat prayed over by mullahs, or meat from animals killed in an inhumane way, it's pork or nothing.
BTW, Obama in 2001 as a state senator co-sponsored the Halal Food act, at the behest of Moslims, so the State of Illinois would enforce halal regulations. The people of Illinois aren't (as far as I know) being force to eat halal, but they being forced to pay to make sure halal food is properly prayed over.

Moslems also do that to HUMANS.
It is very inhumane and cruel to kill any living animal’s veins and arteries and then let it die slowly. Reminds me of bull fighting.
So yes, anything which kills the animal quickest and with least suffering is the only humane method.
But why is any one surprised about muslims. They are the only group I am aware of who regularly behead living human beings. There was a video floating around on internet about Al Qaeda beheading a hapless American whose hands and feet were tied and they cut his neck with a 4 or 5 inch knife. The poor victim was screaming his head off and then the blood made him make awful gurgling sounds as he was drowning in his own blood. These people are barbaric, fanatics, and classic definition of insane.
It is a good thing they lose every war they have fought against non-muslims in the last couple of hundred years. Less than 4 million Israeli’s beat the shit out of 100+ million Arabs in the 1967 war. The Indians have regularly beat up on Pakistani’s in the past in spite of Pakistan’s better military hardware acquired from US. They are not brave enough to fight in combat so all they can do is plant bombs like cowards and behead tied up human beings.

In Dhabh, the name of Allah has to be invoked individually on each animal to be slaughtered as follows:“Bismillah, Allahu Akbar” (In the name of Allah; Allah is the Greatest)
However, in Shechita, it is sufficient to recite the name of God or grace once for the day for all slaughters.

In Kosher slaughtering, the Sochet (Jewish slaughterman) must perform the slaughter in a single, swift, uninterrupted sweep. In Islamic slaughter, the process must be carried in a single swift sweep by a sane Muslim man or woman. However, if he/she were to raise his/her hand before the Dhabh is completed and immediately returns to the process, it would still render the Halal meat.
Islam considers the entire cattle or sheep as Halal if duly slaughtered but Jews use only the fore-quarter as Kosher and consider the hind-quarter as non-Kosher.

Meat of rabbit, shell fish, wild hens, goose, and duck are considered permissible in the eyes of the Islamic Law but they are prohibited in Kashrut.
Islam prohibits all intoxicating alcohols, liquors, wines, and drugs. However, Kashrut considers all wines Kosher.
Mixing dairy and meat is prohibited in kosher foods, but is not an issue in halal.
Gelatin is considered Kosher (regardless of its origin, even from non-Kosher animals). If the Gelatin is of non-Halal (e.g. swine) origin, then Muslims consider it as Haram.
In cheese making, the end-product is regarded as Haram if enzymes from non-Halal sources are utilised. According to Kashrut, enzymes are considered mere secretion and all cheeses are Kosher, irrespective of the sources of the enzymes, even though they may be from non-Kosher animals. Kosher and halal foods are similar: Both prohibit the use of pork, pork products and blood in food
