I can walk to any one of 5 halal butchers ~ without effort. They generally sell DIFFERENT CUTS ~ and the chickens are slaughtered the day of sale.
It's a little different and a couple of bucks less per pound on beef ~ can't stand sheep meat though, and they don't carry pork.
I buy a lot of halal meat from stores in my neighborhood. It's so fresh and less expensive than chain stores. Lamb is a good buy so I finally found a few recipes that actually taste good.
