Election '10: An iconic pundit and strategist takes heat for his election night analysis of a Tea Party victory in Delaware. Can we now focus on those who are really leading America over the cliff?
Karl Rove's political street cred is beyond dispute. He's the guru who, to the dismay of Democrats and liberals still clinging to their hanging chads, guided that cowboy from Texas, George W. Bush, to the White House twice. When he speaks, people listen.
On Fox News last Tuesday, Rove ran off a laundry list of everything that's wrong with Christine O'Donnell, the candidate backed by the Tea Party Express and Sarah Palin who won the Republican Senate primary in Delaware. The Democrats, he said, would pick her apart on personal "issues" such as how she paid off her college loans.
The reaction from the "angry mobs" that became the Tea Party movement was fast and furious. Many thought Rove's remarks would be a good commercial for O'Donnell's Democratic opponent in November, Chris Coons.
Rove could have better spent the time marveling at the political force that has propelled Joe Miller in Alaska, Sharron Angle in Nevada and now O'Donnell to victory against entrenched political interests. An unelectable Scott Brown, R-Mass., now sits in the "Kennedy seat" in the U.S. Senate and the unelectable Marco Rubio, R-Fla., is poised to join what promises to be a most interesting GOP caucus in that same body.

Hey Carl! COONS is the opponent! Not Christine O’Donnell!
Does this seriously surprise anyone? His name is KARL, for cryin’ out loud!
Rove was upset that O'Donnell's defeat of Castle is what put the Senate out of reach of Republicans. However, if Rove had waited just two more days for Rasmussen's Washington state poll to come out, Rove would have learned that Patty Murray surged ahead of Dino Rossi, also taking Washington away from Republicans and putting the Senate TWO seats down.
So, here we are at the end of the week where Rove could blame EITHER Rossi or O'Donnell for "losing" the Senate.
It's not all on O'Donnell's shoulders anymore.
Rove was arguing that O'Donnell was not "electable." Supposedly, Dino Rossi WAS electable, according to Rove.
So we now have "electable" Dino Rossi losing 7% against Patty Murray since the last Rasmussen poll and turning a +2% advantage into a -5% loss in just a few weeks, which blows away any credibility that Rove can call ANYONE "electable."
That's why he should have known better to speak the way he did. Given the Rossi poll, I hope Rove has a change of tune and gets on his knees and apologizes for his lack of faith on Tuesday night.

I also sent off a quick note to FOX programming letting them know that anytime Rove shows up....the channel will be changed.
K. Rove is through.
And....no, I don't think my opinion by itself is going to change anything....but if there are enough of "me" out there....then it sure will.
Problem is, PJ, that Washington poll was done by a group which is notoriously BAD at political polling, unlike Rasmussen.
Karl Rove is mad the people didn’t follow his instructions;just who do these voters think they aer, anyway?
Try again.
Rasmussen September 16: Washington Senate: Murray (D) 51%, Rossi (D) 46%
Rasmussen September 2: Washington Senate: Rossi (R) 48% Murray (D) 46%

For whatever reason Tokyo Rove at this point, chose to reveal, leaving no doubt, he is one of the enemy within.

Patty Murray winning makes me SICK to my stomach.....she really is PATHETIC.
"So, what do you wnat to do with that Senate seat, sell it or pawn it?"

“I also sent off a quick note to FOX programming letting them know that anytime Rove shows up....the channel will be changed.”
I just did the same thing. And I’ll keep firing off the emails. This windbag attacked her again. He really needs to be fired since it’s been proven he wanted Castle to win. He’s no analyst, he’s a party hack.
THANK YOU for posting another excellent editorial from IBD — I just love a little dose of RATIONALITY in the evening!
I also turned O’Reilly off in the middle of Rove’s tantrum. The guys voice is going up and he sounds downright shrill. What is his problem??? Seriously? I think he hates women. He sounds bitter. She won without him. “How dare she!”
I got him back by un-liking his Facebook page, unfollowing his Tweets & donating to Christine O’Donnell’s campaign.
So why are they going after O'Donnell as unelectable, when Rossi, whom they deem electable is failing?
This MUST be the talking point - Let's compare and contrast Rossi and O'Donnell: Who was the more "electable?" Who is responsible for the Republicans "losing" the majority in the Senate?
I would put the blame on Rossi for losing the Senate, not O'Donnell, because Rossi has run for the Senate and let his win be stolen from him by a corrupt recount. How come Rossi isn't a perennial loser but O'Donnell is?
