I read this earlier. I’ve burned myself with acid filling a battery once, and it’s not pleasant.

It completely defies understanding how someone would deliberately pour acid on themselves. This woman has SERIOUS issues and should be institutionalized. This is how sociopathy starts.

She’s going to spend the rest of her life looking in the mirror and asking herself what she was thinking. She thought she was ugly before?

I read on a thread on FR yesterday that prior to doing this she had gone to a plastic surgeon to get her nose redone. Is it possible that she found out the cost was not within her means and that her insurance, if she had any, would not cover the procedure?

A self inflicted acid burn on selected features of her face and then attributed to a random attack by a black woman tossing acid in her face would get the surgery she was wanting. Someone would pay for it for sure!

I do commitment hearings every week. There is just no understanding what makes some people so self-destructive. I always remember Karen Carpenter...pretty, talented, successful, close family and friends, but she could not control her self-destructive tendencies.
