With the past few days given over to Democratic triumphalism, the reality is that the big picture remains roughly the same for Democrats. In Ohio, it's getting so bad for Democrats that the Democratic Governors Association, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee are actively weighing their level of commitment.
Public and private polling from the state suggests that Democrats will lose the governor's mansion, currently held by Ted Strickland, the Senate race (for an open seat that was held by a Republican), and at least four House races (OH 01, OH 15, OH 13, OH 16). Strickland's troubles have surprised some Democrats, since he's seemed to defy gravity for much of the year.

BTW, "actively weighing their level of commitment" means "no money for you". It's hard to believe, but the Dems are actually writing off Ohio for 2010, the state they so often described as "turning purple" after the 2008 elections.
How I long to see a headline like this in reference to Maryland.
(yeah, yeah....)
Ping
House races (OH 01, OH 15, OH 13, OH 16)
Foot soldiers of freedom coming...
Tea Party is on a roll....
All summer I hear the drumming....
Four dead in Ohio.....
Four dead in Ohio.....
Time to shift resources to OH-18 and OH-6. Run the score up to six.
Also, according to Quinnipiac Ohio voters want the Republicans to control the Senate by a 49-31 margin. 18 points, that’s the stuff tsunamis are made of. And we’ve got a lot of good senate candidates this time around.
I hope neil young will remember, Southern man don’t need him around any how
My neighbors were disappointed she didn't show, they all had some choice zingers ready to go.
It's not that hard to "defy gravity" when your entire knowledge of reality is 100% under the control of your ideological peers in the state-run media.
I sorry but I can find little sympathy for Ohio, after all the voted for the ‘Dope’ and their ‘Chains’.
Down here in Lexington Park, we wait for the days when the words Hoyer and Mikulski will be stricken from the public records.
One fellow freeper on another thread said he loves waking up in Texas. I long for the day when I feel that same way waking up in Maryland.
We need to get Baraq in there several more times before November. His toxic coattails can infect a lot of Dems.
Your sympathy is not needed. We will once again be the bellwether we have always been, this time sounding the restoration of the Republic.
He was a great defensive end. Number 75 in silver and black.
Don’t count the chickens before the eggs hatch.
They need to add OHio 18th to that list too.No one is happy with any democrat in OHio right now and I do not believe Zack Space will fare very well either.
Ohio did not vote for Obama.ACORN and our very crooked Dem SOS made cheating very easy for the dems in 2008 when they shipped in 200,000+ voted from other states during the week where anyone could vote in 2008.
THIS JUST IN The DNC is offering a reward to anyone who hears a Democrat uttering the words healthcare, stimulus, bailout, summer of recovery.
The DNC is offering a bonus if anyone witnesses an Obama fly-in to a Dem campaign rally.
