EDITORIAL: New gay Army--Top general calls Christian soldiers 'bigots'
The Washington Times ^ | September 16, 2010 | Editorial

Posted on 09/16/2010 5:17:29 PM PDT by jazusamo

Next week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is expected to begin floor debate on a defense authorization bill that would repeal the Clinton-era "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy and allow homosexuals to serve openly in the armed forces. Last month, a top military official offered a glimpse of how the military might look should the new policy take effect: Those serving who oppose the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) agenda are no longer welcome.

Those were the views of Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick, the Army's deputy chief of staff in charge of personnel matters who spoke about "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" before several hundred troops at the European Command headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. "Unfortunately, we have a minority of service members who are still racists and bigoted and you will never be able to get rid of all of them," Lt. Gen. Bostick said. "But these people opposing this new policy will need to get with the program, and if they can't, they need to get out. No matter how much training and education of those in opposition, you're always going to have those that oppose this on moral and religious grounds just like you still have racists today."

The strong words take additional significance from Lt. Gen. Bostick's direct involvement with a Pentagon panel charged with shaping military policy on this issue. Although Lt. Gen. Bostick presented the question of homosexuals in the military as if it were about civil rights, it is nothing of the kind. The services must discriminate to function. Those who are too old, too weak or too overweight must be shown the door even when similar actions in the private sector might spark a lawsuit.

Are we really trying to win wars?

Good question. It certainly doesn't seem like it, does it?

“As an officer he is openly promoting a political view because if the policy is changed it will be political.”

A couple of months ago another LTG that opposed repealing DADT spoke to a group of his soldiers and told them to let congress know what they think. He received a reprimand. Now this “general” is allowed to put out anti-Christian (and political) bile and get away with it. This is absolutely outrageous.

Yes, it is outrageous.

The PC in our military has been increasing for some time but it’s drastically increased with Obama’s reign.

This outrage by Bostick may be worse than the “diversity fiasco” by Gen. Casey after the Ft. Hood massacre by the Muslim shrink, it’s as least as bad.

Yeah, I gotcha. I was being tongue in cheek. :) And you’re right, my husband will even say that it’s a hooah badge. This is a disgrace...I sent this article to my husband and he said, I’m glad I’m retired. I remember that incident at Bragg and the 82nd. Hubby was in the 82nd at that point. He still bitches about the 82nd and how screwed up it is. Things like this aren’t going to help matters either because of exactly what you said, it’s being promoted by a general and therefore, the rank and file will have to implement it. The military is not the place for social engineering. Has the Army really thought about how this is going to affect discipline issues, housing issues, pay issues, benefits, etc? Nope!!

Leftists and homosexual activists are gunning to take out our military with their personal perverted agenda.

Last I checked Lt. General, we have a civil right to our personal beliefs and convictions and that includes our troops and their deeply held convictions.

"...Service in the U. S. Marine Corps requires the loss of many liberties that civilians enjoy; especially, the right of association. Individual Marines cannot choose their leaders or with whom they will work and live. It is beyond governmental authority to force these Americans into situations that compromise their morals. The Selective Training & Service Act of 1940 permits the granting of Conscientious Objector status to “One who by reason of religious training and belief is conscientiously opposed to participation in war.” Little known is: People v. Stewart, 7 Cal. 143, “Conscientious Scruple. A conscientious scruple against . . . doing military duty, or the like is an objection or repugnance growing out of the fact that the person believes the thing demanded of him is morally wrong, his conscience being the sole guide to his decision . . . ” (Black's Law Dictionary). This “Conscientious Scruple” provision appears to give Marines of conscience a legal remedy for a morally compromising situation of serving under or with Marine homosexuals. Moreover, since there are evidently more persons of conscience in our society than homosexuals, the pool of potential recruits for the current all-volunteer Marine Corps will be reduced..."

Well said and this LtGen is strongly suspect. I'd bet he didn't come up with these views until fairly recently, like when Zer0 became his boss.

.what % of church abuse is man on girl?

Relatively little ... it's almost all faggotry. The politically correct and morally corrupt try to hide the queer connection, but anyone who actually looks at the evidence knows better.

Rule One: No Poofters!

Good advice whether for the Philosophy Department, the Army, or the Seminary.

It would seem that here we see a General promoting a political agenda in the military. When I was in the service politics was NOT pursued. If this continues will we see Generals ordering soldiers to vote for the leftists?

How soon do the units start to get zampolits? Weekly lectures from the political officers? Assignments or discharges based upon political reliability? Da, tovarisch, that’s where this goes!

The "General" evidently fails to comprehend the double entendre meaning behind these acronyms:

ESAD - FOAD

If you do, you will.

Rom 1:27
27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
NIV

Death from above.

Fighting their way out of a wet paper bag could be difficult, much less, fighting an enemy that has NO TOLERANCE and could care a less about you and your so-called American laws.
