On the old Mary Tyler Moore Show, pompous anchorman Ted Baxter once ran for the Minneapolis City Council. After his not-unexpected drubbing, he gave a concession speech in which he proclaimed, The voters have spoken, and if thats what they want the hell with them.
With a Democratic electoral debacle looking more and more likely this fall, Democrats and their apologists in the mainstream media appear ready to steal a page from the Baxter playbook.
For a long time, the media assumed that the problem was the Obama administrations inability to communicate its accomplishments. If only the president could better explain all the wonderful things that he has done for us, the voters would come around. But as the president has continued to give speech after speech touting his policies, voters have remained unmoved. Indeed, according to the latest Gallup poll, Americans oppose the stimulus package by 52 percent to 43 percent, the auto bailout by 56 percent to 43 percent, the health-care bill by 56 percent to 39 percent, and the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) by 61 percent to 37 percent.
Another explanation was needed, and now the media appear to have found one: Americans are nuts!

Remember the book “What’s The Matter With Kansas”? The main point of the little leftie who wrote it was that Kansans were stupid for not electing RATS. This is the view the MSN has always had of Americans.
Another explanation was needed, and now the media appear to have found one: Americans are nuts!
‘What’s the matter with Kansas? They keep voting against their own interest. They just don’t know what’s good for them like we do!’ (Thanx, Liberals! -for nothing.)
The new one, after Obama loses, will be that America is ‘ungovernable’.
It’s funny watching the Left tell America how stupid they are...then asking Americans to vote for them!
Hey, at least the feeling’s mutual, yes? :)
Unmoved? I disagree.
His support has moved. Down.
Liberals have ALWAYS looked down their noses at the public. They have the notion that they have the corner on intelligence, creativity, ideas and everything else. It is readily apparent they have absolutely no common sense. That's a big reason we're $13 Trillion in debt. All the so-called "intelligentsia" from the 'Ivy League' should be banned from government. Give me the smart, hard working people from state colleges and universities, who know the value of a dollar.
When the people turn against their government, it is never the fault of the government but the immense stupidity of the people./sarc
Hey now!
We aren’t just nuts...
We’re racists and bigots too!
Just ask them...
It's like the Dixie Chicks: "Howdy, y'all! Can you believe all the dumb rednecks who actually like George Bush?? What a fool that man is! Oh, by the way, our new album is coming out next week. I want you to run out a buy a copy, y'hear?"
And they were never heard from again.
And how quickly it's all fallen apart. These spoiled brats thought they had it on easy street, and now they're throwing a temper tantrum.
LOL! Sure. Whatever!
The only ones who vote FOR their economic self interest when they vote for a Democrat are those on “the dole”. If you work, it is in your economic self interest to vote for a Republican.

This one certainly has!
That’s why they want to load up on third world immigrants. They’re so much more tractable. All they want is three things, loose shoes, ...
I remember the leftwing tried to develop a palate for Country music to support the Dixie Twits, even gave them free (taxpayer paid for) air time on NPR.
But yeah, coming out as a political leftist when a Country music star is somewhat akin to career suicide.
It's a pity that's too long for a tag line.
“America is ungovernable”
Proudly an ungovernable DoDo!!!!!!
The people are revolting!
(yes, we stink on ice...)
