This could confirm what many suspected all along - the corporate heads at General Electric (NYSE:GE) would try to use their media holdings to portray President Barack Obama and his administration in a positive light in order to gain a corporate advantage.
That's how former CNBC reporter and current Fox Business Network senior correspondent Charlie Gasparino explains it in his forthcoming book, "Bought and Paid For: The Unholy Alliance Between Barack Obama and Wall Street."
According to Gasparino, GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt had "helped his company feast off of the subsidies of Obamanomics," including the green energy initiatives and health care reform. And although Immelt is a registered Republican, Gasparino detailed how Immelt would walk around his company's headquarters saying "we're all Democrats" now at the prospect of government checks going to GE. But later, Gasparino explained how Immelt would use his authority to manipulate the editorial coverage of on Obama for that reason:

Say it ain’t so!
Break up GE.
Good find. I hope this shows up on Fox.
This is why I long ago divested of GE stock. And will not buy a GE product until Immelt is shown the door, if ever.
Thank you Charlie!

Good thing Steve Lice Man stayed above the fray.
I find Charlie Gasparino to be a straight shooter. Good job, Charlie.
That explains why my letter to as many GE board members as I could gather addresses for turned a deaf ear.
Below please find a copy of my April email to Jeffery Immelt. I sent it to you in hopes that you also share my concerns for GE. There is a significant consumer, investor backlash building and it could impact GE for many years to come.

TO: Jeffrey Immelt

My Dear Mr. Immelt,
My late father worked for GE for many years in the Apparatus Service Division out of Cleveland, Ohio (specialized in marine work) and was always proud of his relationship with a grand old American enterprise. You were growing up down there in Cinci at the time and, one could assume, were inculcated with those same traditional values my father developed growing up in Coshocton, Ohio.
My wife and I are long-time GE shareholders and have remained thus through the current tumultuous period.
But we have become concerned, indeed ALARMED, at recent events at GE, the most telling of which is your evident embrace of a man who is clearly hell bent on dragging America into some sort of fascist or socialist nightmare. And make no mistake — that is PRECISELY where he is headed.
My wife and I have both signed the “We Surround You” letter at the Free Enterpriser web site so I shant belabor the points already made therein.
I served in the USAF for four years between ‘62 and ‘66. One day in May of ‘62, I raised my hand and swore an oath to God to “...defend the Constitution of the United States.”
To the best of my knowledge, that oath had no expiration date and is still active.
I would respectfully ask you to reconsider your recent activities vis-a-vis what many out here in fly-over country consider to be aiding and abetting an enemy of that Constitution and the IDEA of America envisioned by the Founding Fathers.
If you do nothing else, pray about that and think about what your continued course of action portends for your kids, your grandkids and, more importantly to me, mine.

Since I sent this email to which I received a polite and completely useless computer generated reply things have only gotten worse as Obama has hoisted the flag of state/corporate socialism even higher up the pole. And the public outrage now bubbling over the top will, I fear, cost GE far more than Jeffery Immelt can know. I pray that America THE IDEA will somehow survive Obama. And I pray that an old and venerable firm like GE will somehow survive what I consider to be potentially death-dealing decisions by Jeff Immelt to throw in with the worst occupant of the White House in my 70 years.

However, Gasparino went on to say that Immelt regretted this pro-Obama stance by mid-2010
Seems to be a lot of that going around
No kidding?!
This will have the media and political world up in arms!/s
Yes. Fox is completely free of Murdoch’s influence.
If you are a big global industrial giant, what better possible platform could you have to further the interests of your company than to buy a whole network?
The deal should have been blocked on the face of it.
But, because they are Dems, I’m sure they will get away with it. They always do.
Immelt is very very close to Prince Al Waleed - the Saudi King’s nephew. The Saudis bought the white hut and America and expect O to Islamified America faster. Keep watching TV sheep because it helps support Sharia.
Gasparino is a straight shooter.
The really good business news reporters are: Gasparino, Steve Santelli (father of the Tea Party) and Stuart Varney who is a big conservative.
I think Steve is the only one still on corrupt TV. ALL of TV in America is corrupt with Saudi money and deals.
I’ll say it again — they made a big announcement that every NBC show would make some mention of green energy or public service or whatever during some “Green Week”, so we knew it was coming.
Seeing it come to pass via just four or five lines of script dropped more or less randomly into “The Office” was one of the most chilling things I have ever seen on TV, because I knew that the vast majority of the viewers had no idea that those lines of propaganda were coming more or less directly from The State.
Rick Santelli
GE is a s**t corrupt company that has multi-billion deals with the Saudis and Islamic world.
Immelt is VERY close with Prince Al Waleed who owns 7% of Fox News/News Corp. The Saudis and Islam have shareholdings and multibillion joint ventures and deals with ALL the TV networks. This is why Bloomberg sold out NYC.
You think these companies care about America? LOL! GE wants China and the Islamic world’s business. If you have to go into a prinson camp so they can hit their quarterly numbers? So be it. I support capitalism but China and Saudi Arabia demand things from these deals.
The Saudis want Islam shown in a more favorable light and Saudi money git the islamo-marxist aka their agen in the white hut.
