PHOENIX – The Justice Department has asked a federal judge in Arizona to force Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his office to provide full and immediate access to records and facilities for a civil-rights investigation without going to trial.

The motion for summary judgment filed Monday also asks the court to force the sheriff's office to comply with all future requests involving the probe.

Earlier this month, the Justice Department filed an unprecedented lawsuit against Arpaio's office for refusing to turn over documents or allow federal officials to evaluate jails and interview staff.

Sheriff Joe turned over tons of documents but apparently the Gestapo didn't find anything so now they are now back with their fishing poles.

He is 78 years old and when you get that old you don't really worry about your future. Right or wrong, he is going to do what he thinks is right and not worry about what those children in Washington think.

>He is not immune to local law.

Actually, he is immune to legal consequences for anything at all that happens in, or as a result of, his courtroom - and that includes any kooky or outright unlawful decision that he could make.
IOW, if he issues a court order for you to be castrated and he finds people to do so, he is immune.

Its a bitch isn’t it?

” PHOENIX – The Justice Department has asked a federal judge in Arizona to force Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his office to provide full and immediate access to records and facilities for a civil-rights investigation without going to trial. “ .... why should he ? why should he turn over any documents when Obama has been fighting tooth-&-nail to keep his birth certificate and other documents seeing the light of day ?

I watched “Law Abiding Citizen” yesterday and thought it wonderfully poetic that the judge whose decision to exclude evidence forced the prosecutor hero to make a plea deal with a murderer is killed right after saying “I’m a judge. I can do anything I want.”

Well, those aren’t exactly actions that are taken in the courtroom are they?

I think what Bert is saying is that the locals should take control when you have a judge is out of line. Use local law to make his life misearable like he is doing to poeple in his court room.

That is right. If not the judge, then his staff and clerks. Harass the hell out of them. . Tit for tat.

Trying to purchase soon-to-be-amnestied Mexican votes, Bammy is. For Bammy and the Demmys, reduced sentencing for the vile and the petty, and restoration of voting rights to “former” felons, and amnesty and voting rights for illegal aliens, and the locked-in, redistribution, Peggy Joseph, “he be givin’ me free stuff” vote equals a Permanent Democrat Majority.
